With the dismissal of Jadis, it seems that I'll be taking over as the sole offensive coordinator. I'm going to be adding a much more organized approach to the offense and that's going to be explained here.
First things first- Playbook. Forum is taking it upon himself to make a playbook that we will be running throughout the offseason. Once we figure out which ones work the most effectively and the ones that don't, we'll filter out the bad ones. By week 1 we'll be able to run 5 or more plays 100% effectively. This is going to require all offensive players to attend every practice as possible and pay attention when we go over these plays, as this will play a key role in determining starters.
Secondly- Running game. In any successful offense, the run game is a safe way of moving the chains. Lets dial down the hype here, I'm not fit to run a pass-first offense, and Forum is a great running back. So in order to take advantage of this, we need to organize a good running scheme. Next Order of Business- Center. I will be taking it upon myself to train a center this offseason. I feel that this position is of the upmost importance. You have to have decent blocking experience to start so you have something to build on. I will go over pass protection, run blocking, rollbacks, and countless other things. If you are interested, let me know in practice. I'll also be holding center tryouts to see if I can bring in some talent that we currently don't have on the roster.
The Redcliff Raiders have a very legitimate chance to make an impact this season, and any great playoff team has a balanced offense. If we can meet these 3 goals (VERY EASY TO ACHIEVE, when you think about it), I guarantee you that we will make the Redcliff Raiders the best team in the Old West Conference.
