look, I like the Lions and all, but are you really getting your hopes up THAT high about them this year?

lmao i love hearing this argument because the accusers always go quiet when i start listing why i disagree.
1. We lost Suh. no doubt the best DT in the game. this is true.
2. We picked up Ngata, who is one of the best run stuffing DT's in the league. Nowhere near the pass rush presence suh brought (8 sacks, or something he had)
3. Tulloch is back from injury, arguably the BEST run stuffing ILB in the NFL.
4. On 3rd down, to generate a better pass rush, the Lions will put in 3-4 pure pass rushers. (Including Ziggy Ansah, who is a monster DE)
5. Along with the pass rush getting a little weaker, our secondary has only improved with the experience in the system and in the league. The Lions have a t3 safety combo in the NFL, and slay is t10. (held Dez to 3 catches 48 yards 0 TD's)
6. (Do i even need to keep listing how the lions got better??) they improved their oline to the point where we should be t15 in the league and drafted a good rookie (ameer abdullah) who has played behind a trash Oline for all of his 4 years at Nebraska (trust me im a nebraska fan, every yard he got was because of him) Abdullah was highly underrated, and you'll see that throughout the course of the season (ROTY candidate). IMO he was the best RB in the draft. (I say this because gurley cant break tackles like he could in college now that hes in the big leagues. And Melvin Gordon is a product of his system. Hence why whoever they plug in has immediate and great success at wisconsin)
The Lions will have a legit run game for the first time since Jhavid Best was healthy for 5 games in (2011? i think) and during those 5 games the lions had one of the best offenses in the league.
Lions will have both t10 offense and defense this year. I could argue the defense will be t5 this year, but we'll wait until the season starts for that argument.
Hopefully this explains why i am driving the lions hype train this year. CHOO CHOO. |

Yeah Detroit improved, but there is no way they could beat a defense like Seattle. They could give the packers a game because they lost Jordy Nelson. But with Megatron decreasing in skill each year they would be lucky to get to the conference championship.
