Yes, this thread has been posted, But I'd like to make a new one, as I've been told to do so by the ROBLOX customer service.
Recently, ROBLOX has added this new update, where everyone gets what they call "saefchat" and the censor all the words that aren't allowed. This is very frustrating for many users, for various reasons.
Myself and many other think this update is completely useless. Not only do we believe that Hash-Tagged words should only be for safe chatters, but we don’t think there should be safechat at all. We do understand bad words being Hash-Tagged, But safechat in general Is basically useless. We don’t mind at all if there is safechat, But not major safechat, where a lot of words are Hash-Tagged
It’s very frustrating when you’re trying to communicate with other ROBLOXians, that have safechat. I’d just ask them a simple question, Like, “Do you want to play Design It?” And then I’d get an answer like “########”
I also think that safechat should be only for ages 10- Ages 11+ should already be mature enough to see the words you’ve hashtagged. There really isn’t anything bad to see, if ROBLOX hashtags most of the bad words, Like the F bomb, and the S word. Then there really wouldn’t need to be such thing, as safechat.
I’ve been on ROBLOX since 2007, And have been pleased in the past, until this new update. I’ve also tried to update my group information, and there wasn’t anything in it that needed to be hashtagged, But yet, Every single word in the group info, was hashtagged.
Also, now in messages, when i’m trying to send someone a ROBLOX group link, or a game link to join me, It’s also hashtagged. This is very hard for me, and in my opinion, it needs to be fixed, very soon.

the limit needs to be raised to 16+, you are in no way mature at that age
you arent even mature at 16, but it's just better than 13 |

It's not safe chat at all. ROBLOX has a list of words and phrases to be censored. It automatically hashtags it if you say one of those words or phrases.
ROBLOX is just choosing the wrong things to hashtag. For example, they started hashtagging links because of phishing sites, but it also backfires on some ROBLOX links.
Yes, I will admit that ROBLOX has gone forth with their censorship in a bad way, but please do a little research first. ROBLOX Safechat was that blue bubble on the left side of the screen that you had to click and got phrases like "Hello," "TEH EPIK DUCK IS COMING!!!," etc. They removed that from all users and gave the younger users limited chat. Users that are 13+ don't have limited chat, but the chat for users of that age group is just heavily censored. |
