I'm not one to usually argue something like this, I don't ever find a need to say anything that would break the old censorship system, but now it's become an issue for me within just the first hour of using it.
I'm a scripter, and I'm trying to talk with a friend of mine and he's asking me questions, and there's a lot of our text that gets censored. Was the old censorship system really that big of a deal? Unless they actually add a list of words that can only be said, like toontown did, which is INCREDIBLY restrictive, there's ALWAYS going to be ways around censoring.
Why add a new system, when all it's going to do is cause a lot of stress like this? |

I didn't have an issue with the new system, at least yet.
Though, if you would like to talk with your friends about scripting, I would use Discord. Connected phrases (any phrase without a space, above a maximum set of words in a phrase) or multiple values will get filtered, through.

I'm not familiar with Discord. If it's third-party, I'm not really going to get into it. I don't feel like I should leave ROBLOX to talk about things regarding ROBLOX. I just simply do not understand why ROBLOX felt it was necessary to try and incorporate an even stronger censorship system. I do notice it seems to be more lenient online though. Perhaps if you haven't experienced it yet, you haven't played in-game yet. Not an accusation, just a suggestion. :P |

I did play in-game for a bit..
Though some things got censored, I could still understand a conversation.
(Isn't all programs third-party if it doesn't come from Microsoft, technically?) And I didn't know that Discord existed a week ago. I use it all the time for help on technical support. Google Play users have 1,000,000 - 5,000,000 installations, too.

Words what I came across that are censored in-game:
"She left" (She and left remain separately uncensored.)
"Need"
"You"
"Arms"
"Your"
For something this stupid, I can't help but think that they actually did switch to a whitelist that's just larger than the one for under 13.

I consider third-party to be a software or program that exists external to a main software, and kind of "interrupts" your direct link from you to the main software, I suppose. :P |

Agree... While I understand that full sentences with swearing could be censored understandably as this system does, this system also censors random things in random sentences. Here is the link
I had the words "at" and "the" censored in this sentence:
"May I make a speech at the rally?"
Like, wow. How does that even apply to that this new censorship is supposed to censor?
Looking at the site ROBLOX uses for it's censorship: https://communitysift.com/
It's supposed to censor "Bullyng, fraud, s.exting, self harm, Racist/ hate speech.
Do these words apply to any of that?
It censors basically anything not in it's filter system, including shortcuts. Why doesn't roblox just have a "list of non approved words"?
That, or just go back to safechat where we only have a set amount of words we can say.

Then there's "censoring an entire chat when a single word is 'inappropriate'" which is straight up cancer.
I've also noticed that talking with grammar in-game is more punishing than not. Think about that.

When i'm playing with my friends and they have admin, some times one of the commands are censored.

Bump! ROBLOX needs to see this and understand how we all feel. There are already so many threads relating to the new system, and I don't want for ROBLOX to feel like this is a phase that will just blow over. It's nonsense. |

I feel like they just couldn't fix that bug where your last word gets cut off in bubble chat, so they went "Screw it! Break the whole system!"
Seriously though ROBLOX. You keep backups of your old software, right? Time to use them. |
