What is Community Sift?
Community Sift is a chat filtering system for online communities.
Sift officially covers the following:
Scarlet City Studios, Musically, Storybird, Greybox, Animal Jam, and ROBLOX.

Community Sift is marching to eliminate toxicity from the social web. We classify billions of messages in real-time every month to identify the context and understand the reputation of users.
You can use Community Sift to filter profanity, address toxic behaviours, streamline moderation processes, and even reward users for their positive behaviour online."
The thing is, Sift fails to "identify the context" of users' messages. Simple words like "hello", "so", "as", and many more basic words are censored by this system, whilst multiple profane words slip by.

Community Sift uses multiple algorithms in both natural and unnatural language to form an effective defense against toxicity."
There's the problem. Using algorithms to determine context is largely inaccurate. Human language is naturally complex, especially English. What these algorithms end up doing is barring basic communication from the user to another user.

"Decrease churn
Users who experience toxicity are 300% more likely to leave your online community."
Users will be 600% more likely to leave if they cannot establish a conversation with other players, regardless of "toxicity".

TL;DR:
Roblox's faulty filtering system is third-party and causes trouble for user communication; human judgement is better.

No support, just imagine how much lag it would cause to update over 100,000,000 different accounts BACK to the old filter. The first lag spikes were bad enough while moving to sift. |
