Official File of the Gridiron Football League [GFL®] GRIDIRON FOOTBALL LEAGUE HANDBOOK - Welcome to the Gridiron Football League please read the information below to ensure your experience is a great one. - ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The handbook will be divided into sections. Section 1® - Welcome Letter Section 2® - Features Section 3® - Gameplay Rules Section 4® - Franchise Owning Section 5® - Coaching Information Section 6® - Media/Training Jobs in GFL® Section 7® - Stadium/Renovation Rules Section 8® - Franchises ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 1® - Welcome Letter The Gridiron Football League (GFL) is a pink ball travel based league that is trying to revive the status of travel. We've seen many other leagues fail because of poor ownership and are working hard to move from those mistakes. In the GFL we'll be a more civilized organization than some of the other travel leagues that were out and are still out today. We're here to make your experience more special than any other league. We want to be the best league and we're willing to do whatever it takes. Read on so you won't be confused when you join the league. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 2® - Features The Gridiron Football League is a place where the latest ideas and technology take hand for one common goal... To make the league more fun. ✫★ NEW TO TRAVEL... FRANCHISE OWNING - It costs 1k to Franchise Own a team. You will never be replaced from Owning unless you have been punished and had your job taken away or when you retire. - Franchise Owning at first might seem a little complicated to you, (the person reading this) but I can assure you it is quite simple. - In real life, Owners do not play for their teams of course. You wouldn't want Jerry Jones quarterbacking for the Dallas Cowboys. Anyway, in this that rule does NOT reign true. Owners MAY play for their teams if they would like. - Owners are required to hire a Head Coach for the team. They have the choice of hiring an Offensive or Defensive Coordinator. You may pass the signing of O/D Coordinators and Roster to a Head Coach, BUT YOU are required to find a Head Coach. Nobody in the league is responsible for that. - Owners take care of stadium renovations/ facility renovations. They must first check to see if they have enough money to pay for it. ✫★ GFL NETWORK GFL Network will be a weekly based show on the news of the GFL. GFL Network will show highlights, news, etc. All the stuff you would see on SportsCenter or NFL Network. ✫★ 6v6 GAMEPLAY Games will now be 6v6 in travel instead of 5v5. Centers will now be used. ✫★ GFL Combines GFL Combines will be done before every GFL Season. Including this season. It will be a chance for the rookies to show what they can do and for the coaches to get a look on the rookies that will be in the Draft. ✫★ Prospect Lists Prospect Lists for upcoming rookies every season. ✫★ Weekly Game Analysis For every game there will be an Analysis, as in a brief summary of the two teams and Prediction and everything that you'll need to know about the game and determine for yourself who might be the victor. ✫★ Media Days Media Days will be for important events such as Draft, Championship, ASG, etc. ✫★ Weekly Power Rankings Self explanatory in the title. ✫★ Stadium Renovations Owners may pay robux to have their stadium improved or completely rebuilt. *Prices are on the Stadium Renovations Section.* That's only a handful of interesting features here in the GFL, NOT ALL. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Section 3® - Gameplay Rules ✫★ Team Requirements and Guidelines ★ Signing only occurs when both team owner/head coach and player agree to terms, ★ Transfers only occur when both team owners agree to releasing and receiving the player/players ★ If a player is transferred to a team after already playing a game that week he cannot play again that week. (Players cannot play twice in one week) ★ Releasing occurs when team owner states who he releases. ★ If a player is released after already playing a game that week he cannot play again that week. ★ Team owners cannot hold players "hostage" for excessive weeks at a time. Failure to abide by this rule will result in an investigation by the staff of GFL and may result in removal of a player. This rule is put in place to ensure every player enjoys their time in the league. - Rule VIA NCAAF ★ If a player accepts to Team A then accepts to Team B, he will be suspended for 2 games(or weeks depending on scheduling) and will still be apart of Team A. ★ If a player is caught using an alternative account(alt) to join multiple teams that player will be suspended for 2 weeks minimum. ✫★ General Rules ★ 4 quarters, 10 minutes each ★ 4 downs, FD = 10 yards ★ Teams are given 3 time outs per half ★ The clock doesn’t stop after first downs ★ Clock is stopped after: Kick-offs, turn over on downs, play goes out of bounds, ball is spiked, incomplete passes, OTOs, and turnovers. ★ 2 challenges per half, if you challenge and are found wrong, you will be penalized a timeout and lose your initial challenge. If you are right and your challenge is correct you keep that initial challenge. ★ All games are 6v6. NOTHING ELSE. ✫★ Offense ★ Center always snaps to quarterback. Quarterback may not hike it himself. ★ Snap Counts are allowed, you don't have to call hike. Play starts when ball is snapped. ★ 2 double passes are allowed per game. ★ 2 QB sneaks are aloud per HALF. ★ A WR cannot receive the ball if they voluntarily run out of bounds and comeback in. ★ A WR must touch the ground for it to be ruled complete, if a WR catches it in air and lands out of bounds it is incomplete. ✫★ Defense ★ Players are not allowed to stack on each-others heads. ★ CB does not have to jump to intercept the ball. ★ A safety is committed when the defense sacks or tackles the offense in their own end zone. ★ When the team throws the football out of the back or side of the end zone behind them during a play. ★ When a player steps out of the back or side of the end zone during a play (Unless the football is received in the end zone during a kick or interception) ★ Post to a safety the team that was sacked or tackled must punt from their 20 yard line. ★ If a safety kick goes OOB the LOS will be where the ball first goes OOB. ✫★ Special Teams ★ Away team chooses heads or tails before regulation or OT. Home team chooses what side they defend and it switches at half time. KICKOFFS ★ Kick offs are done at the 50. ★ If the ball is kicked out of bounds it will be downed at the 40. PAT FIELD GOALS ★ For PAT LOS is 15 yard line ★ Ball must be snapped to kicker post to the kicker calling hike ★ Kicker must be within 20 yard line and jumping is the only motion allowed ★ Defense may not stack before the snap ★ The ball has to pass in between the uprights to be ruled good ★ Kicker must be within 10 yards of the LOS ★ Kicker can only jump while having possession of the ball. ★ Blocked PAT/FGs that havent made contact with the ground or been ruled no good are live balls for the opposing team and can be returned for 2 points. ★ Team A - Kicking Team ★ Team B - Receiving Team ★ Only 2 onside kicks allowed per team.
