Hola, your new referee director here,
As my first duty I am instituting a complete overhaul of the referee system to make the OCFA rules consistent, clear and easy to follow. This will include ref eligibility, ref reviews, payments, and a couple of other improvements.
[Payments]
Referees will be paid based off of how many games they officiate this season and how well their performance is. The amount has yet to be determined, however it will be adequate for the performance of the referees.
[Appeals and Officiating Rules]
-If no eligible referees show up to the game, a person approved by both head coaches may stand in as referee.(excluding members of either team and people on the OFL ban/suspension lists) However, these refs will NOT receive pay. This may only be done if there are NO official refs present.
**An appeal may be filed when there are no official refs, HOWEVER the chance of the game being altered in any way will be slim to none**
- Any official ref appeals may be sent to sillykid99 and for instructions on that refer to the OFL rulebook.
- No more than 4 refs may be officiating at any game (Head Ref, Line Judge, Umpire, Back Judge)
- Banning any OFFICIAL referees results in a forfeiture for the team responsible
- All rules from the OFL rulebook will apply to the OCFA. (With the exception of Onside kicks)
- Banning/kicking refs before they are able to give HC's a review form results in a suspension of the culprit for one week.
- Any suspected alts must be reported 30 minutes BEOFRE the game. Unless the player in question is on a ban/suspended list, the game will continue
[Onside Kick Rule]
-Each team is allowed ONE UNANNOUNCED onsides kickoff PER HALF.
-The ball must cross the 40 for the kicking team to recover it.
-If the onside kick does not pass the 40, the ball will be placed at the 40 yard line.
-Any kick not passing the 50 yard line is considered onsides.

There will be a list of eligible refs posted Friday before the game. Head coaches can remove any unofficial ref not appointed by an eligible ref. |
