Starting with the obvious question by all of you, what are “Pure Power Rankings”? Pure Power is a system that I am trying out, I take the point differential of the team, average points per game, roster strength, and strength of schedule to determine the true strength of a team. Keep in mind, this ain’t the real NFL. #1 Packers [4-0, T1st in PPG (61 PPG), 2nd in PD (+106), RS 5th, SOS 2nd]: I have no words to describe how just good this team is. Defense isn’t amazing, but it gets done. Offense scores a lot, and even though Bagel makes many mistakes (6 INTs in week 4) the defense can get some stops. #2 Browns [2-2, T1st in PPG (61 PPG), 3rd in PD (+93), RS 1st, SOS 3rd]: Note, for roster strength that’s with kelvin. Anyways, even though this team didn’t win week 4, they put up a great fight and could’ve won. I like this team going forward, even with kel still at 2 weeks to go until he is back. #3 Raiders [4-0, 3rd in PPG (60 PPG), 1st in PD (+129 PD), RS 3rd, SOS 5th]: This team is dominant. Do I need to say more? They currently have the highest PD, third highest PPG, and are a deep team with a fairly interesting schedule. #4 Patriots [4-0, 4th in PPG (52 PPG, 4th in PD (+68), RS 4th, SOS 7th]: This team is a sleeper in the AFC. You could say, “They’re 4-0, how that a sleeper?” They have so much talent on this team, that I missed a lot of players during award predictions. #5 Cowboys [3-1, 7th in PPG (45 PPG), 5th in PD (+57), RS 2nd, SOS 8th]: Okay, this is probably a slight bias. I think that when crunching everything minus record, they fall near bottom quarter of league. Anyways, they are a good team record wise; analytics are hard without a good stat taking system/responsibility. #6 Lions [2-2, 8th in PPG (36 PPG), 6th in PD (+43), RS 7th, SOS 6th]: Very easily could you switch the Boys and Lions. If Kebow doesn’t show up in Week 1, Lions would be at 3-1 and Cowboys would be 2-2. This team is much better than the record shows, and they should be a force later. #7 Dolphins [1-3, 4th in PPG (51 PPG), 8th in PD (+6), RS 6th, SOS 4th]: I can hear all the other 2-2 teams spamming opinions now. Wait, and let me explain. Franky is the coach and QB for this team, and two weeks in a row he has gotten so close to winning, and two weeks in a row he only lost by one possession. They have potential to be a top 3 offense, but the defense needs some help. They will be in the AFC playoffs because; well Broncos and Steelers are just so bad. #8 Skins [2-2, 5th in PPG (50 PPG), 9th in PD (-4), RS 8th, SOS 7th]: The Skins defense is more porous than cheesecloth. Even if they put up 77 on offense, most likely the defense is giving up 70 and an OT game occurs, as the Skins have had one non-OT game this season. Defense wins championships boys, and the Skins don’t have a very good one. #9 49ers [2-2, T9th in PPG (34 PPG), 7th in PD (+10), RS 9th, SOS 12th]: All right, when I said, “I can hear all the other 2-2 teams spamming opinions now,” I meant this team in particular. All I have to say is this: Ice is the only reason that they are 2-2, both ways. If Ice doesn’t throw all the INTs in Week 1, he’s 3-1 easily, and if the 49ers had remembered to show up in Week 3, they might be 4-0. Done, that’s it. #10 Broncos [0-4, T9th in PPG (34 PPG), 12th in PD (-156, yes no joke), RS 10th, SOS 1st]: “Homer, do they have 1st hardest SOS, ya noob?” Well, everyone, here’s why: Browns, Pats, Phins, Cowboys. This team has faced unbelievable offenses every week, so them being 0-4 is understandable. Skins defense may be bad, but the Browns lit them up for 119 points, and the Browns haven’t broken 50 since that Week 1 game. #11 Hawks [0-4, 11th in PPG (16 PPG), 11th in PD (-147), RS 11th, 11th SOS]: Why do Broncos have hardest schedule, but Hawks have almost least? Simply because reasons. #12 Steelers [0-4, 12th in PPG (11 PPG, no joke), RS 12th, SOS 9th]: If this team were active, THEY WOULD BE OK. That’s all they need, active players. Don’t agree? Figure out a system like this, and do your own. If you think I overlooked something, such as APPG (allowed points per game) I will consider adding it in.
