Clockwork Angels - Rush (heavily compressed, no high frequencies, instruments badly mic'd) Nevermind - Nirvana (way too pop-sounding and commercial for a band like Nirvana)

The Devonshire Mixes for Nevermind really fix everything wrong with the mixing though. They sound amazing.

They brickwalled the Devonshire mixes pretty badly but it's still a better representation of Nevermind than the original

Nevermind didn't have horrible mixing. Just because it sounded poppy doesn't mean it was horrible. The #### #### ### #### wasn't muddy at all. Everything about it was good.

Sure, the dynamic ranges wasn't that quite good but the mixing was good.

Ethereal Shroud - They Became The Falling Ash The vocals are difficult for me to hear with my crappy earbuds

Lol, get studio headphones. You can buy a cheap pair for $15 and I guarantee it'll sound better than any $50+ earbuds/headphones you'll ever buy.

You're not wrong. I'm an elitist who listens to Punk on my spare time and I am currently in a Black Metal band.

Yeah, most likely I won't show anyone on ROBLOX(Unless I post it in the MT group chat) because I don't want any connection with my BM band with a kid's game. Anyway, Soundcloud is overrated. Use bandcamp my friend.

Definitely the drums on Slipknot's album, .5: The Gray Chapter The bass drums sound like someone hitting a bunch of sticks with bamboo

"Nevermind didn't have horrible mixing. Just because it sounded poppy doesn't mean it was horrible." It's more of a subjective thing but I think that it does not fit the band's true sound.

"Half of the people that'll post here won't even know how to mic a drum set. lol" I'm a drummer, and yes, I do. I really don't have enough mics, but I have two overhead SM57s, one ambient mic, a condenser on the snare, a condenser for the toms, and a kick drum mic for the kick drum. I understand that this is a kids game, but you're certainly not the only drummer here lol

Yeah, I don't think it's really necessary for a guitarist/pianist who barely has time to play his own instruments to know how to mic a drum set. Thanks.

Definitely the drums on Slipknot's album, .5: The Gray Chapter The bass drums sound like someone hitting a bunch of sticks with bamboo The closer you put your bass drum mic to the beater, the treblier it is gonna get. They do this for a lot of metal albums actually.
