Hi,
I've been wondering honestly how ROBLOX businesses could work- now I think there is a way that phone, computer, and other types of businesses can come to ROBLOX- by renting models.
Explanation;
Basically, users may upload a model to the catalog, and put it up for rent to other users. Internet is required to place and see this model in game.
When it is placed, the model is not just any normal model that can be copied or edited- it is in a grouping similar to that of a UnionOperation, except it cannot be ungrouped. When a game owner's rent runs out and they have yet to redeem it, then the model will just simply stop showing- not delete itself, just stop showing when a player goes in game or on Studio.
### grouping is to protect ### model from copiers, since it is a means of income for users. Groups may as well upload models (thus allowing for things like computer companies to come to ROBLOX). Models may be updated, however ones placed in game already will not be automatically updated until the game owner clicks on the model in Studio and clicks "Update Model," I presume a green button which will insert the proper model.
The sa###thing may be done for tools as well, and all scripts work normally in these models. The mo### owner may manually take or put the mo### on sale at any time they desire.
Scam Prevention;
To prevent scamming, the model owner may allow for the user to try a demo version, where they may insert the model to a game for one day only. This demo works only once per user. This will allow for the user to try the model before they buy it.
In conclusion, I am aware someone will find a way to do something bad with this feature- they always do. The rating system we have will take care of that.
Thanks,
