I live in that area don't listen to fourseam. Everything he said is things you will find about 1.5 hours away from Charleston ( where I live) As far as like touristy things in Charleston the must-do things are. -Patriots Point (The USS Yorktown and USS Laffy are there along with a submarine whose name I forget) -The Battery (Tons of really nice homes along a really nice water-front view it's fun to go and drive by, some of the home-owners names you will recognize) -The Charleston Market (It's like an actual walk through market, you have to buy a sweet grass Basket, they are made for all kinds of prices and all kinds of sizes by local members of the Gullah population. -In the area by the Market you can hire a horse to take you around the main part of the city and the horse comes with a tour guide I'm pretty sure -Daniel Island is a must-see place, it's one of the wealthiest areas in the state and is home to one of best non public schools (athletic wise) in the country in Bishop England High School (grr I hate them) I wouldn't just stay in Charleston, if you have the time Georgetown is about an hour to the North and Hilton Head is about an hour to the South, Out of the two I'd pick Hilton Head ( I live in Georgetown County, while it's historic, poverty has really overrun it from the Steel Mill being closed for a long time. PM ME for more info

As far as mini golf goes, the best ones aren't in Charleston, there are only a few good ones

As far as sports go, there is an ECHL team in North Charleston and the Charleston Battery are a marginally successful USL team
