I never said we're removing currency. Gems will be added as an extra currency like Robux and Tix. This time it will be Robux and Gems.

We could add back the trade currency where you could trade gems with Robux.

so it's literally just tix but it can't be traded for robux, can only be earned in events, and have to go through a billion tests to start earning them

No, ROBLOX is a one currency system now. ROBLOX specifically said one reason tix are gone is beacuse there are some marketing and comprehensibility reasons that a one currency system benefits ROBLOX and its players.

I just thought of something.
Maybe instead of gems it could be called "Event Robux" which is still Robux but you won't be able to trade it.
Technically it's still Robux. Just another "form".
And just in case new players get confused, there should be a guided tutorial of the currency system.

This is not as good as my idea in which we salvage sponsored items or just normal items that are offsale(not limited of course) to make a currency which we can use to buy even MORE sponsored items or normal items that are offsale.

You could do that for some items.
But mostly gems will be used to complete Robux purchases.
Suppose you do not have enough Robux to change your username, then it'll ask you "Would you like to buy the missing Robux for ___ gems?" Something like that.
