Essentially, like achievements on the Xbox One version of ROBLOX, logging in consecutively for certain periods of time grant rewards. Say for example, Logging in and playing games for around 21 hours per week gives you 10R$.
A possible extension of this, for BC members, is that there is a multiplier on their play time, so a regular BC may have a 1.5x bonus, which would be 15, TBC would have a 2x, making it 20R$, and an OBC would have a 3x, making it 30R$.
This allows NBCs who are loyal to the game to gain money much like how tix was for everyone, but is harder to farm, abuse, or effect the market.

Presumed FAQs:
"Would it effect the value of robux?"
Logically, it shouldn't too much, besides, the amount of revenue taken from certain amount of hours played (such as 21 hours = 3 hours a day) would give ROBLOX a certain amount of revenue. If a balance between the revenue from playing for x hours can be translated into the worth of a single robux, it might be worth it. People will want to play more and more as it allows them to earn more, while ROBLOX still gets its money.
"Would it be farmable?"
Sure, if you want to play games for hours on end on many alt accounts. Pretty sure bots aren't sophisticated enough to play games long enough to make it worthwhile to farm.
"Is this a free giveaway?"
No, free would be "Here's 10 robux for doing nothing." Instead, it is rewarding a player for spending their time on games. |

@IGot
Well, that'd be a lot of game hours, I'd say if they play it that religiously, they're entitled a dominus. |

Besides, how is that any different to saving for a Dominus as an OBC? or buying R$ to skip saving altogether? |

This was a really good Thread. But I think you should tone down the hours on the idea.
I mean, who would play Roblox for 21 hours without stopping? (Okay, I've done that kind of, but I only do it on Saturdays and sometimes Friday nights) It would probably destroy the community. Like, let's say, 1 hr = 5 robux. That would be reasonable, right?

But, I don't care about the BC ratings, in fact, I love it!

No, this would cause inflation, bots, and ruins the point of games, as well ROBLOX will lose money. Let me elaborate.
Yes, it will affect the value of ROBUX. ROBUX are not supposed to be a currency that you can simply get for doing easy tasks.
Yes, it will be farmable and bots are 100% sophisticated enough to bot it.
It will ruin the point of games because now instead of people playing games for fun, their only incentive will be to get ROBUX.
ROBLOX will lose money beacuse one of the resaons people buy ROBUX is because they look sooooo good to have, but in reality they aren't. People will now see what it's like to have ROBUX and realize it's really not that good and doesn't open up much more in the game, as the game is already 100% playable without ROBUX.

By the way, I'm not saying 21 hours in a row, merely 21 hours in a span of time, a week, month, etc.
Bots could wait around in games but the principle is, the amount of revenue attained by ROBLOX for the amount of time the platform is in use is the rate of which people get rewarded.
Say, ROBLOX makes 10 USD every 21 hours someone spends online and in-game.
Lets for simplicity, say 1 USD = 100R$
For every player that spends 21 hours in-game, even a bot, getting 10R$, ROBLOX still gets 9.9 USD. Only 10 cents are lost in this process (bear in mind this may be lower due to exchange rates, this is merely an example.)
While it may effect the total profit, that number - I assume from roblox's gross and net worth - would be inconsequential to this idea.
Only issue is, do bots count as revenue to the site?
Also, talking about players incentive, isn't that the same logic behind all these events? They're designed to make people play, because "free stuff and rewards!" All this is doing is saying "Heres a reward, choose what you would want." Instead of forcing them into a linear "free stuff" inventory, it allows for more innovative looks, more awesome styles available to the free players. Therefore giving them incentive to do more on the game, earning the company more in the process. |

@Nopants
That was quite sore to the eyes, the amount of rhetoric and deviance from the topic made it difficult to summarize.
But I get its point, and again, if it was "free" R$, I'd get the point that post was making (I think)
Thing is, the proportion of reward is based on the proportion the NBC player gives back, namely in ad revenue, site revenue, things that they make money off of when the player is a free.
I'm not saying "put aside money we have now and give it all away" at all, because that is dumbdumb idea. |
