Basically there is a button that you press that shows you the height map (the color of the terrain based on the elevation of it) to better see and edit the terrain.
Example: https://www.roblox.com/library/884128919/RGB-Heightmap
Blue, the middle, would be at the original baseplate's level, Dark purple, the lowest, would be around a hundred studs below the baseplate, and White-ish Red, the highest, would be around a hundred studs above the baseplate. The developer would be able to change the values of the maximum heights.
People, like me, can use this to better smooth out terrain for roads, pathways, etc. The Smooth tool isn't a good tool because it makes large creases if you smooth the terrain a lot.

The lighting in ROBLOX is very poor and low quality, so I can't see how deep an object is based on the shadow, etc. So this would be a good solution to fixing out small holes and bumps in terrain that you cannot see without good lighting or the heightmapping.

^ No, I'm suggesting a toggleable sort of vision that only works on Smooth Terrain, and would make all of the terrain a certain color based on it's elevation.
