Honestly, I just want them to get rid of it because it's limiting and I don't want to have to manage the number of friends I have.

you should narrow down your friends list.. for example, i only have 9 friends which i talk to on a regular basis so they're the only ones that can be on my friends list. there isn't much of a point to just add a ton of people that you never talk to
