Simple,its for the younger people,with that HORRIBLE update kids would be encouraged to play more with friends,and not with "strangers" as these overprotective mothers say.
My suggestion is that this update only applies to players that have less than 13 years |

It's because of the message bots, they used the server lists to gather players playing the game, and message them. |

Whoever actually falls for those messages shouldn't even be playing without a paren't permission, the default messaging is set to "nobody" and it's the same for the follow settings for a player. There's so many ways ROBLOX could have avoided this, but by removing the tab they've created 15 more problems.

You would have to friend them on real life or use the "Play" button.
Also,my theory is that it dont prevents it but discourages it |

Because most mothers hates friends that you dont meet on real life |

Bots can just simply spam groups, or spam players through the playerpoints leaderboard on games. This update was absolutely pointless. |
