Yes, I know this is in S&I, but what does it matter? This sub-forum is going to be deleted anyways.
From my humble beginnings as a fresh guest in early 2011, to the present day of fidget spinners, dank memes and bacon hairs, I feel that ROBLOX has declined in some areas and gotten better in others. First, I'd like to express my thoughts on some bad updates.
-The removal of TIX: While I do agree that this was an inflated currency, I feel as if it brought "colors" to the newbie community. What I mean by colors is variation. With TIX, newbies and free-to-plays could pay for cheap clothing, that way at least everyone would look somewhat different. A solution to this would be to get rid of the price floor.
-The removal of comments: This update was a double edged sword. Either they kept the comments, but had to figure out a way to stop bots, or they got rid of the comments and along with that, comment bots. Sadly, they took the easy way out and removed comments. Personally, I think that comments were useful to developers since you didn't need to create a Twitter or some other means of contact to get suggestions. Comments were the easiest way to say something about the game. Maybe it was something you liked, disliked, or something that could be improved upon.
-The server list update: Yes, it's to stop bots, but can you (ROBLOX.) stop taking the easy way out? Server lists were actually useful to a lot of people, including myself! I would imagine that this update disrupts a lot of war group activities, and people such as me who like to play in completely empty servers sometimes. If you, ROBLOX, won't add server lists back, could you at least add some sort of miscellaneous server button? Sometimes I don't like to play with friends.
-The price floor update: When ROBLOX originally released the price floor update, I highly disagreed with their statement of this update "helping creator and developers." It doesn't, at all. Maybe some developers would've liked to give away their clothing for free to get recognition, or perhaps sell their clothing at a really low price so a lot of people could afford it! Along with the TIX update, this stops free-to-play players from customizing their avatars even more.
-The liquid games page: This is just a personal thing. I never liked the look of the liquid games page, I like the old pages better. This doesn't mean it's bad, just, I didn't really like this update.
-The chat filter: This chat filter could be a lot better in ### ##### Number one: Convert from a white list system to a black list system..... That way, only swears and bad words would be filtered. Or, number two: Remove the filter altogether, and rely on the people to report each other to ROBLOX. It would be more chaotic, and a lot more people would see swears, but I think it would be worth it.
Since we've got bad updates out of the way, let's get tubular and ride away from all those negative vibes man, feel good and remember the good updates bro!
-Team create: I think that team create is a much better option than personal servers. Whilst personal servers had a nice feel of community with them team create offers much more ability to create something better with ROBLOX studio instead of a stamp tool.
-Engine optimizations/dynamic lighting: These help the game run better AND look better! Not much to explain here, but without these updates, ROBLOX wouldn't run as smoothly and look as good as it does today.
-Ratings: These were good because you can use them to rate a game that you like or dislike, and see if a game is good or not solely based on other people's reactions.
-Username changes: Simply put, if you didn't like your username, you could change it! Even though it costs 1000 RObux, I think it's worth it.
-Audio: Being able to upload your own audio for a game is great! It can make the game a lot more immersive than just visuals, and who doesn't like to listen to good songs while you play?
Well, those are my thoughts on ROBLOX. I definitely won't be quitting anytime soon, but I think ROBLOX needs some work.
