You need to be very wealthy in order to start up a somewhat near decent group. Unlike VAK a lot of groups don't have slaves that they can order to do their dirty work for them for free.
Uniform
Base
Rally point cost
Training facility
Tech
Ranks
Adds
It's a huge investment and not a lot of people will join your group if it isn't up to standard. Not my default at least. You need to maintain some kind of relevancy and therefor it will always cost you money.
Of course we have the big groups you could join, but lets be real here, those groups are only there for profit. You think Sonic, Polymorphic or Gavineao cares about the members? At the end of the day it's about making Robux or IRL money.

Not the reason. I only had connections with graphic designers when Deicide was founded and now I am leading a skilled group that can function as a clan in the community. It makes it ###### ### it's not the main reason. The main reason is genre groups being more fun for newer players. |

It's connections, not money.
It may take time, but I have established BSD with very little money due to connections, as well as my own personal contributions in development. |

uh no thats a lie
When Shinedown, Myself, and Company start The Platinum Accord (What is now TNI)
We had absolutely no wealth and did not pay anyone. Our first fort was something me, witi, two random builders that offered, and HoodedBlack put together in 6 hours with the help of an opensource raid system we customized
Our first rally place was something I scripted in 2 hours when I hardly knew how to script
If you have dedication, a willingness to communicate your idea with people, and finally a GOOD idea. People will follow you

A new player, or someone that has been playing for some time isn't going to be capable of creating a new group without money. |

Well should a new player be able to?
I mean thats like saying it shsould be easy for an 18 year old person who just got out of highschool to start a business
You need connections

Old clans are dying because capitalistic clans are a thing now.

F_ilipe I think that situation was far different since you already had a dedicated playerbase (most of which consisted of refugees from RAT). That's what made your bare bones clan so active.

"F_ilipe I think that situation was far different since you already had a dedicated playerbase (most of which consisted of refugees from RAT). That's what made your bare bones clan so active."
That is true and I will accept that as an exception, THOUGH- If we did not act immediately and work with what we had that entire player base would have died within a week

TNI started up from something but it wouldn't have been where it is without the funds. It would've eventually died off.
Don't try to over-glorify your dedication. |

I agree somewhat, and then I also lean over towards what others are saying.
Learning how to design cloths is VERY time consuming, more so than learning how to build something half decent to look at.
So you really only need funds for things like uniforms, or if you can find friends that are mediocre to do it for you for free.
A wide variety of people can build, that doesn't mean WELL just good enough, so you can cut the cost of a rally point, training, and a fort with some edited open source scripts.
Edit SMGs or some other raycast gun, or even an RCL like gun, and add your own meshes or builds and put the script in the new gun or whatever, you have your "tech".
You don't NEED a lot of ranks for a group, I personally love loading up my clan with maximum amount of ranks because of the way my group runs, but it's not necessary and I'm sure most people on here have over 100 or so which can give you a decent amount of ranks.
Ads are so amazingly easy to make, it honestly takes no effort unless it's top of the line GFX I don't know why people pay for them. (personal opinion)
For a logo, you can easily look up a tutorial on youtube on how ######### works and what every tool does, plugins and effects that you can download, look up tips and tricks for making logos and it's really easy for a mediocre logo. I learned it overnight.
Tldr is that you really don't NEED funds if you're willing to go for the utter most minimum quality, or have friends.

If I didn't get 40k for doing some guy's homework (someone I like, to this day) I woud have managed.
Uniform - I can make my own uniforms, not that great but stil a goodish standard
Base - I have bought 5-6 cheap bases previously just in-case, always at hand to sell also
Rally point - easy to make, just have a buiding tbh
Training facility - also easy again
Tech - very easy bc I script, my ideas are always do-able. Even my idea of implementing VR
Ranks - cheap af
Adds - ???
Lore and Writing is cheap also,
TIP: have good connections and have at least 1 skill (i.e building)

"TNI started up from something but it wouldn't have been where it is without the funds. It would've eventually died off. "
uhhhh what funds has tni had lol
Cryptonox is building for free, I cant think of someone we've paid a significant amount of money to do something for
pretty much all of our developers are and have been loyal members

The cost is totally fine! You just have to advertise. I have made profit from my group so I think it was very worth it!!! |
|
|
But would people join your group.
And what you are saying is that you are going to spend hours upon hours of work just to get started without guaranteed active members. That's unrealistic. |
|

you dont need to be wealthy i can tell you that much, just be friends with the right people |

"And what you are saying is that you are going to spend hours upon hours of work just to get started without guaranteed active members. That's unrealistic. "
Then becoming a leader is an urealistic standard for you
But to people actually dedicated to it they will put in hours guaranteeing active members and they will put in hours developing/finding people to develop for their group
You think all these successful clans were just created and boom they had plenty of active members and developers? No, even if you had the money its extremely hard ifyou dont have the dedication to do the above
I had over 200k robux in 2015 and tried to start a clan but had no dedication, developers said no because they thought my idea was boring so they did not want to work for me and I did not want to do the work myself
Wealth is not an easy access pass to being successful

If it's so easy according to you all. How come clans don't thrive like they used to? You think anyone is interested in your new crappy start up group with a cheap base and copied tech? No. |

That's exactly what happens. Hell, BSD took 5 years and is just now taking shape. |

"If it's so easy according to you all. How come clans don't thrive like they used to? You think anyone is interested in your new crappy start up group with a cheap base and copied tech? No. " That's extremely easy to answer: Clans aren't new anymore Clans don't 'thrive' like they used to (which is a lie there are now several clans that can rally 50-100 people with ease as opposed to previously when ##### Cobras had to gather 2-3 of the biggest clans there were to rally around that much) because clans and raiding bases isn't NEW anymore. People need to come up with different ideas to make it new, that's why roleplay is thriving because that kind of clan is NEW. Back when clans 'thrived' a clan base wasnt that much less advanced then a front page game and now there's a huge gap in between. New players want to play what is most fun and there is no way (as of right now) to make a clan base equally as fun to a little kid as a front page game |

"Groups are dying because of the cost"
no lol
A group is costly to start but requires no money to maintain
LESS groups doesn't mean less activity
Less groups actually means more individual members in every group
Onward. |
