Illinois DOT Radio Usage.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
In Illinois DOT, we will start using official radio codes. We use these codes to look professional while on duty. If you don't follow these radio codes, you will be given a strike if proof is provided.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
You will NOT use the radio to communicate with people when you have a #### ###### You either call the person or meet up with them. NEVER have a normal conversation on the radio. Failure to comply will result in a strike.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
【Radio Codes】
You will use "10-8" when going on duty. If the radio tags it, you will say "Online"
You will use "10-10" when going off duty. If the radio tags it, you will say "Offline"
You will say "10-20" or simply "20" when asking for a location.
You will use "Code 4" for acknowleding a request. If the radio tags it, you will say "C - IV"
You will say "ETA" when asking for an estimated time of arrival.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Also, always keep the radio updated on what you're doing. For example, "towing vehicle" or "Inflating tire."
