The Calder Trophy is the rookie of the season.
Couture's advantages is his clutch scoring with 8 Game Winning Goals. Also is more inportant to the Sharks during the season than the others. |

Sorry, 123yonnd, I forgot about Logan Couture. |

1. Jeff Skinner (Pretty impressive for an 18 year old vs a 21 year old)
2. Logan Couture (He would have had a good chance if he didn't get injured)
3. Michael Grabner (Does a 24 year old count as a rookie???) |

Also there are a few good goalies for the Calder Trophy.
Chicago's Crawford.
Washington's Neuvirth.
Philadelphia's Bobrovsky |

Nash, Couture only missed a few games from being sick.
The game he was injured he came back the next game against Calgary, and even got a goal. |

I know but Skinner is 18 and Couture is like 21. SKinner is actually leading Couture in pts so imagine what he will be like when he is 21. |

Look at Skinner's +/-, then look at Couture's.
Skinner doesn't know how to be a defencive forward. |

Lol Sniper, Pavel is like in his mid 30s. He is way to old to be a rookie. |

I think its gunna come down between Skinner and Couture. Grabner and Ennis both are amazing players but just haven't put up as many points as those 2. |

Skinner is only 1 point infront of Couture with 54. |

it's not about points
phaneuf was a calder candidate
he has about as much points as ovetchkin gets a season |
|

Ovechkin got OVER 100 points his rookie season.
Dion had 49. |
|
tatoberryJoin Date: 2008-08-31 Post Count: 20872 |
again, points don't matter because phaneuf was still a calder candidate |

But did he win it? No.
The guy with over 100 points did. |

tatoberryJoin Date: 2008-08-31 Post Count: 20872 |
we're discussing candidates
and ovi is a key player, a clutch player, and a great player
that's why he won
notice how tyler myers won it with a meager 48 points last year
and before then, steve mason won it. he's a goalie
then patrick kane, with 21 goals
then ovie
then andrew raycroft, who is now a backup goalie. in his rookie season he had 3 shutouts
than barret jackman, with a whopping 19 points
point in case, it's not about points |
