A Big Problem In ROBLOX

Lately, I've been seeing people chatting inappropriate words by separating a few letters with a period, dash, or even spaces. Ex. b.ir.d Is there something anyone can do to discourage this act? It annoys me and disgusts me to see this happening in games all around, even forums. After all, isn't ROBLOX a game for ALL ages? We can not expose younger children to this type of language!

Blame the fact they're using a WHITELIST for the chat mr. scarcastic. Yeah. Whitelist. For the chat. Why would they do that...?

ROBLOX I think has done a pretty good job on keeping that down. But as hard as things are or easy I mean I think getting rid of actions such as saying letters between periods. Anyway in the Roblox blog they said they are working on new system for swearing and such!:)

Well I hope they get that down asap. Sometimes, this can get out of hand. As I said, we should not expose younger kids to this type of language.

I think the filter should remove things like . and @ and other stuff so b.i.r.d in the filter would be read as bird.

i know how to break the filters so that it doesnt have any kind of dots or dashes inbetween it just looks like the filtered word

Anti support. I think all people under 13 should be 100% safechat. If they lie about their age, that's their fault if they're exposed to the language. People between 13 and 15 should have freechat but have a heavily enforced filter. People 15+ should have a weaker filter, that only filters some of the worst curse words. If they lie about their age (as I know many do, I know a 9 year old with OBC, and is freechat...), it's their fault and they reap the consequences.

So you're saying that you wouldn't care if people 15+ are exposed to this language? It's not right to curse, whether you're 6 years old, or a 45 year old adult. You are being a bad role model if you use profanity in an online game like this.

I personally don't cuss, and there's no such thing as not being exposed to the bad language if you're over 15. 1) High School 2) Internet I've seen people in lower elementary grades cursing up a storm, it's depressing.

Guys. Guys. This is pointless. Even if kids do not see swearing in Roblox, they will see it in another game. Have you EVER played Team Fortress 2? Just go to a random server and listen to the voice chat.

@zac There are lots of people on this site that are around 10-12 years old and are very mature. My best friend on here, she's 12, and if ROBLOX was still allowing volunteer mods I'm sure she would be one of the first people to be chosen. Despite being an OTer(no offense OT) she's really mature. Another friend of mine, not on this site though, she's 10 and acts like she's 16, she's that mature.
