THIS IS NOT WNTS. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT WNTS. PLEASE read the whole post. This is not user meshes, but a huge performance update. TL;DR version, read the last paragraph. So I was riding in my car to scout camp. I was looking at the trees, and thinking of how you would make a realistic looking tree on roblox without lagging the crap out of your game. I was thinking, "If only there were realistic leaf meshes." But roblox can't make meshes for everything. I was thinking and thinking, until I came up with the most brilliant idea for roblox. So what happens, is there is a new type of object class called "MeshGroup." You can use plugins, like CmdUtl to make something, like a gun. Then you move all those parts that you used to make the gun inside the "MeshGroup" Object. The parts are now rendered as a mesh. You then can move the MeshGroup inside a brick. That brick will now have a gun mesh, which is made up of bricks. The MeshGroup object will have the same properties of a normal mesh, so that you can scale it and such. You can access the children of the MeshGroup, and add and remove parts from it. This will remove tons of lag. It would allow builders to let their imagination flow, and put laggy shaped models into one brick. Another idea for this feature, is to map it to Ctrl+Shift+G(and Cmd+Shift+G), along with Ctrl+Shift+U(and Cmd+Shift+U), to group and ungroup a mesh group. So again, if you got confused at what this does: You create a whole bunch of bricks, CFramed into a good looking shape. You press Ctrl(Cmd)+Shift+G to group these parts into a "MeshGroup." Then you move this "MeshGroup" object into a part. The part now has the shape of that thing that you CFramed and made. It removes tons and tons of lag. You can now build to your heart's content. This will allow you to add millions of bricks with the same lag as about 5 bricks. Repost from http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=102139387 Emerson wrote an essay on that

The goodie two shoes and dev comments will be that you can make an obscene drawing and then meshify it. Apparently that's why usermade meshes were removed in the first place, but I'm pretty sure you never got anything obscene.

I like it. This would seriously cut down on lag. However, more detailed options would be needed when creating the mesh. For one, players should be able to select the faces that they wish to keep, and those that they wish to remove.

Hah! This is exactly what we need. Reminds me a bit of Terrain, keeping both a mesh with thousands ontop of thousands of parts all in one, not only, but still keeping physics! Anyway... full support.

Seems like people don't care about improved gameplay, while meshes are by far the fastest thing to run with, as far as i know anways... What a shame. Le bayamp.

This rather reminds me of that post of giving Cylender meshes physics over a year ago, got neglected by it just a few days ago where a user suggested the same thing. What does he/she get? A response. Tells how poor the staff is.
