Just a little observation What has almost every mainstream rapper started doing? Singing. More specifically using autotune with that singing. Sure, T-Pain brought autotune to the mainstream, but no one used it for singing (in hip-hop) until 2008, when 808's and Heartbreaks came out. Sure, when it came out everyone hated it. But it's had staying power, and songs like Love Lockdown or Heartless have grown massively in popularity, are a staple of parties/clubs, and you literally have to be living under a rock if you have not heard either of those two songs. So I think it's safe to say that 808's and Heartbreaks is the most influential hip hop album of the last 5-10 years. And I could see Yeezus being the same. It may not happen, but it could. It may not be the most original style, but Kanye is the first super mainstream rapper to do so. We'll see how time proves that, though.

808's and Heartbreaks is still a good album IMO. I like Coldest Winter the best IMO.

I haven't listened to 808's oh nooo Yeezus was really widely hated by the general public though, so it would be kind of strange if everyone picked it up.

I'd say it's the most influential of the past 5 years, but I can't exactly say that for the past 10.

But for 808's, Heartless and Love Lockdown were really great pop like songs that the general public could easily pick up and enjoy. I couldn't see that happening for any songs on Yeezus.
