I believe accent marks aren't allowed because they're considered special characters which would unfortunately make it easier for people with ill intent to pass the inappropriate language filters. |

Pros:
accents could be the difference between a dirty word and a clean word

poetic emphasis (i have no idea why someone would do this, but ok)

@corgi But there are abbreviations to the bad words and I don't think that there are words with accents.

@corgi: please dont ban me for speaking my mind here, but that seems a little orientalist- i mean very few english words have accents on their name with the exception of cafe, fiance and facade- so youre not really hurting english speakers here but those who speak foreign languages that require a series of accents such as those who speak one of the romantic languages. |

They have the money. They should set up servers for each region like other online games do. Then you could have a Latin America server and North American server, eliminating language issues. |

@aqua: im not sure if thats a good idea or not- one hand i once joined a server full of polish speaking people( no prejudice im part polish- i just can't speak a lick of it), and i couldn't understand what they're saying and i was in a rts that required alot of communication. that being said i think it should be a choice you could be with your language group if you want but there should at all times be 'free' servers so that people from all over the world can play together. |

The mods never really respond, an official post on ROBLOX's stance is made after 400 replies, I believe.
I can't really support this. English is among the most spoken languages, second only to Chinese(Due to their population density, it's actually quite localized). Let's not even get into the ramifications of moderating foreign languages(To ROBLOX's standards, at least).
I know this may sound cold, but even if you don't know English that well, I'm not gonna go through the tooth grinding experience of seeing a minority language that most of ROBLOX(as in <%50) can't read on screen. If you're saying a long string of expletives, we'd be none the wiser.
At any rate, our best chance at crushing language barriers is to use a single language.worldwide, and the numbers show that English is quickly becoming a prime candidate. |

Actually the words with accents make 10% of the portuguese vocabulary and we can even put other words to work as the accent.
Btw ROBLOX is the only website I know that doesn't "support" the accents. Is this kind of a "prejudice"?
