Like many in the past, this thread will probably be ignored by the devs just like everything else. Apparently roblox isn't open to criticism. I'll try anyways. Okay, literally 90% of roblox either doesn't want outlines at all or just wants them to be toggleable. I agree with them. There are many reasons for this: -Many people WANT their objects to look like a static model. -Cframed items come through as a random jumble of grey lines. -The above point applies to Cframed places too, ruining several games entirely. -They appear as 'borders' for white blocks. -It doesn't make roblox look any more original at all by implementation of it. It makes it look more like LEGO BLOCKS. -You said that the final verdict of this is in our hands yet you haven't responded. Not doing anything about it would look bad on the player appreciation. -Making them toggleable for the brick is probably the safest decision to end this off with. -Some people think it makes the game look ugly in their opinion. -The game would do just fine without anyways (the expression don't fix what isn't broken comes into mind) In my opinion, I think making them toggleable is probably the safest reply to the massive amount of outline hate threads that have been made. I personally don't want them at all, but It looks like we'll have to adapt. Now I understand that a few people like outlines, so by making them a checkbox property it is creating a win-win for everyone.

Agreed, but I wouldn't want people to have to go enable it for every brick And how do the mods never listen? You think they pulled BC Games, Gear, and Trading out of their butt?

In response to gsterman, I think that by default outlines could be turned ON for terrain based and pre-made places like CTF or happy home or whatever they have for preset places now. Baseplates should have them turned OFF by default. And they will be both toggleable per brick as well. That's what I think should happen.

Outlines, the update nobody asked for, the update only few like, the update that has no benefits in any way, the update that increases lag, without enhancing game play, the update hated by many amongst Roblox staff (but the board decides), the update that limits personal, creative expression, the update sending roblox backwards instead of forward, the update meant for amateur robloxians, forgetting the most loyal ones, the update that underestimates our abilities to create something professional, the update that has to go, the update that FAILED! Outlines are not going, Unfortunately. Its trying to make ROBLOX more *unified* Make it an option and ROBLOX's goal of a unified game experience, Is out. Sure it makes your building style noticeable, And sure you say it wrecks the CFrame world, And Sure, It wrecks the car's of ROBLOX, But we cant change ROBLOX. We can only post and watch the mods post here that they are not reversing/making an option of outlines. Some games look good with these. Most game creators cant stand change. ~11076

@11 Is Roblox a sandbox game or a game building platform? I thought it was a platform, but outlines tell me something different. Doesn't roblox staff notice they're stepping away from the platform, or is that the point? To reduce Roblox to a sandbox game. Because if Roblox gets reduced to a sandbox game, I will exchange it for Minecraft. Back in the day in 08 the roblox community was averaged up to mostly 13+ year olds. Scripting and building was the highlight. I could have a legitimate conversation on politics with everyone I came across. Then roblox changed their gui hud to what it is now. Nobody wanted it. Some said it would attract more children. It did. A bit later, they partnered up with Disney XD, probably the worst decision ever. Roblox was flooded to the brim with 5 year olds for the next 6 months. It has all been going downhill since then.
