I personally don't like that Asking Alexandria-style-of-vocals (i don't know an accurate label, sorry).
But I like Trivium. My favourite albums would have to be Ember to Inferno and Trivium.
You should try listening to Opeth and Emperor (Opeth is one of Matt Heafy's minor influences, you can hear it in Shogun, and Emperor is a black metal band, and Heafy plans to do a second-wave styled black metal side project soon). |

Trivium is metal (although I'd exclude their new album, In Waves.)
I'd say Asking Alexandria and the band mentioned by the original poster are core.
Opeth is Progressive Metal, and Emperor is Black Metal. |

Not everything with thrash is metal. This is thrashcore; if metalcore is extreme metal/post-hardcore then thrashcore is thrash/hardcore |
