Tell me why this couldn't just have a spotlight on it?
http://www.roblox.com/Camp-ROBLOX-Headlight-item?id=118278340
It would have been epic with one. If more hats like this were to be made, or if there were older hat's with lights, why can't they have Dynamic Lighting added to them? There can't be that many of them. Please Roblox!
This would make me really wanna buy that hat. More than I already do. How cool is it to play a dark game and to not be able to see, then to just pop on this hat and then see >:D
If you have to, include an "allow dynamically lit hats" tab to the configure options of the games' pages, so if users don't want it added it can be prevented. With dynamically lit hats stuff can happen >:D

Because, hats are not supposed to give you an advantage in game. When I was a little nub like you. I wanted to get heat vision goggle to enhance my gameplay. But now, I learnt that you have to have a gear to get any advantage (Not including VIPs and Gamepasses.) If it had a light ontop. You could have a dark cave. People will be able to see it. If you want it for your game. Make it. I can think of a million ways to make it. Its simple.
Before you start saying you joined before me. Go to urban dictionary and get the definition of nub. |

I fail to see light as a deathly overpowered enhancement... It exposes you as much as it lets you see... |
|

And I don't flame like that. |

Hats are not made to give you lights in-game.
They'd have to completely re-construct hats, because they aren't made to work like gears.

Hats don't suppose to help in a game, it will probably defeat the purpose. |
|
|
They won't have to be redone like gears -_-... All you do is add a spotlight object inside the hat... That is all you do. They don't have to do anything else. And if necessary, You could just add a local script to get the mouse target if you insisted on having a toggle... It is not as complicated and game breaking as you guys make it out to be... Like I said. Let there be a "Allow Lit Hats" Toggle in the Configure page, if necessary. |

Hats are meshes on your head, not where elements inside studio are added.

Hat >> Handle >> PointLight
Hat >> Handle >> Mesh
or Hat:GetChildren()[1] >> PointLight |
|

I mean, think. Hats can't force a spotlight to be added into studio like that, it doesn't happen. Besides, to put the spotlight there would also be hard.

"Hat >> Handle >> PointLight
Hat >> Handle >> Mesh
or Hat:GetChildren()[1] >> PointLight"
I don't think the mesh is separated into parts.

Dude... I made a script that automatically adds Dynamic Lighting to all Sparkles Fires Explosions and Forcefields... (e.g. All periastrons make light...) I think a little issue of adding 1 spotlight to a should be a cake walk...

That's because you added it through studio.
People won't do that.

Adding it manually, on your own, creating it in studio, is a completely different thing.

Ok... There is a Hat Object. It is sort of like a tool because inside there is a handle. The handle is positioned on the head the same way tools are on the arm. Inside the Handle is the mesh, the Handle is a part. Parts can hold SpotLight & PointLight. Hats go inside the character in workspace. Parts can also hold scripts. Local scripts run in characters, so they could add a toggle local script in the part with the light, in the hat, in the character, in workspace. |

Hats don't work like that.
ROBLOX doesn't put scripts in the hats.

I am completely lost now... If it can be done through a script, roblox should be able to do it... Hats are basically uploaded as models. They insert the same way... Why can't they just add a spotlight? |

I loled at this so hard!! :D Made my day! |

Glad I could make your day :) |

Sorry man, but people who have games that are supposed to be dark and scary will be ruined |
|
|
Not neccissarily... Like I was saying... They have options for types of gear allowed, have options for light allowed... |
|
|
I still don't understand why no one thinks it would be cool to have headlamps that actually are headlamps... But whatever, if no one wants this, then I guess I'll just take it upon myself to add it to my Auto DL script. |

I personally am totally against this ever happening.
Lighting is a very core gameplay mechanic for some games. Darkness could be used to make something a challenge, or set the mood. The problem with having a hat with a light is it provides an unfair advantage, and one that the game creator didn't intent to have in-game.
Take gear for example, I can disable gear because they provide an advantage, such as light. I can't disable hats in my place. |
