"Why did we not know of this before?" I whispered to Abramovic. |

"Excuse us." The priest suddenly appeared behind you. He obviously heard you conversation. "But we have just yesterday opened the full house. We have been treating visitors regularly in the previous months but yesterday, our usual number of patients exceeded our expectations." |

"It seems you now have even more" I replied, referring to the group of refugees that had been coming down the road. |

"And that is why I need you actually." He signaled you to follow him. "Please, this way."
He started walking to the side where one of the doors led to different quarters of the church. |

I followed him through, glancing at the injured being tended to either side of me. |

The door extended to a narrow hallway with doors on each side. The wallpaper and floor were wooden and the wall was decorated with various pictures and documents from the long working years of the church.
He led you to one of the doors on the left side and opened it. |

I proceeded through the doorway, making sure Abramovic was still in tow. |

He followed you inside the room. Inside, there were three more people besides the priests. One was sitting at an office table and the other two sat on chairs beside it. The office was probably that of the priest himself. The walls were wooden and the furniture was old. A large bookcase cover most of the side wall.
"These men can tell you what happened yesterday in the late hours." The priest said. |

"Who are they?" I asked. |
|
mimaloverJoin Date: 2011-04-18 Post Count: 2368 |
"Citizens, farmers, workers. At least they were until last night." He told the men to tell you their story and one stood up to speak.
"Well, they came in the night. They killed our outposts which we set in front of the village entrances. You know, we had to defend ourselves somehow. So we took up arms to defend our land. There were some soldiers in the village as well. I really don't know what happened to them. Anyway, as I was saying, they came in the night. Somebody raised an alarm but it was too late. They have already started entering houses. They were looting and burning houses. The people were kicked out of their houses. The men were taken to a field and shot, we assume, anyway we heard shots. We managed to escape through the cornfields. They had tanks and vehicles with them. I even caught a glimpse of what I'm sure to be an army officer."
"These men are from Trpinja." The priest said. "The ones from this morning are from Lipovača." |

"That means they are getting closer. You said they had tanks?" I replied, deep in concerned thought. |

“Atleast two! And they had other vehicles as well.“ He said. |

"And they are heading this way?" |
|

The man just shrugged.
“The most important thing is that we now know and have proof that they are being directly supported by the army.“ Abramović whispered to you.
Your question from earlier was soon answered as one of the sergeants from your patrol unit stumbled inside.
“A jeep just rolled towards the church! In it is an army officer. He demands to speak to the commander of this facility.“ He announced. |

"God damn, Abramovic, come with me" I ordered and proceeded towards the exit of the building. |

(Gtg for today, reading crime and punishment for school :p)
You left the building, the sergeant was in the lead and Abramović and the priest followed you outside. You reached the road and the jeep was seen parked slightly down the road. The driver was sitting but the passenger was standing in the back.
He was an imposing figure, in his late fourties and a well shaved face which seemed sharp and serious. His hair showed a few grays but he did not look very old and juding from the view, he was well built for his age. He seemed very self-assured. |

I paused in the road, rifle lowered to my side but still with both hands clasped around it. |

He jumped off the jeep self-assured as he was. He was unarmed which added a sense of impression. In a brisk pace, he started approaching you. He stopped meters in front of you and saluted. "Major Nikolić, 1st Guards Mechanised Brigade, JNA (Yugoslav People's Army, eng)." He considered you for a moment before asking; "Am I speaking to the commander of this facility?" |

(By facility do you mean the church? The priest is in charge right?) |
|
mimaloverJoin Date: 2011-04-18 Post Count: 2368 |
(You can present yourself in charge. It depends what you want to do. As a figure of authority, you have the right to occupy the church.) |

(That was my plan)
I turned around briefly to the church and turned back.
"Correct" I replied. |
|
mimaloverJoin Date: 2011-04-18 Post Count: 2368 |
"Then I must ask you to leave. I can not guarantee your safety if you continue to occupy this building." He said, his tone was a monotone. |

I stood still for a second, a blank stare fixed on the figure atop the jeep. "I must politely decline sir, these people require refuge" I replied.
|

(He dismounted the jeep and approached you earlier.)
His expression was clam showing no emotion. "Let us sort them out. I assure you that the Army will take proper care of these people. If you do not comply, I'm afraid that a bloody battle with Šešelj's boys* will follow. My intelligence reports indicate that they are not far off and are proceeding to this location as we speak. I can not vouch for their good behavior." He said calmly.
"He just wants to get rid of eyewitnesses." Abramović whispered. |
