I am trying to decrease snaps in my Obstacle Course. I have been making a lot of anchored bricks smooth, but my snap count isn't decreasing. Thanks for any help.

Isn't the SNAP COUNT got to do with how many connections there are? If that is right, then it doesn't matter what type of surface you have. You'd have to totally separate the blocks, I think, for it to decrease. Basically, I'd only be concerned with the Brick count - decrease that and it'll make everything go faster.

Actually, strange as it seems, it is snaps that cause a place to lag. Making a surface smooth is one way to decrease snaps, but if you just anchor a group of bricks, it should have a greater effect. It won't decrease the snaps, but the engine won't have to calculate the physics for that object, which is the main reason snaps lag. It has to constantly check to see if there has been enough force to break the snap.

Oh... is that why some people claim my place has lag... of course, reducing brick counts also reduces snap count, so it is almost just as good. Cool!

Changing the surface won't decrease the snaps, but it will prevent physics calculations, decreasing lag. Removing bricks is the best way, however sometimes you need all of the bricks, so you have to resort to other means.

Yes, scripting can take up a LOT of time, since in some cases there is a lot of threads all trying to work at the same time!
