Britain lost none of that until Colonization was outlawed by the Geneva convention; and they lost the rest of it after the military bases were relinquished to the United States before the US entered WWII.

Britain lost control of the 13 Colonies to a bunch of untrained americans.
Some left the Red Coats for America sure, most were just untrained.

Roger, USA send billions into weapons every year.
USA could win a war just by hitting buttons.
They have endless unmanned drones, UAV's, Nuclear Missiles, Nuclear Subs.
They have the dominant military aviation technology.
Maybe others have secret projects, but USA spends the most in that area by far.
