Procedural Rendering affects the level of detail depending on how far away you are from an object. For example, the trees in Skyrim look nice and detailed up close, but as they get farther away from the player, they lose their detail and become more cartoon-y in appearance. (They lose their shading and roundness and become flatter.) If Roblox incorporated this into their system, then a lot of bricks could render more quickly because they wouldn't have nearly as much detail which, in turn, would smooth out roblox's rendering lag by quite a bit.

Problem is that roblox's system doesn't really work well with this, considering there are only a few textures for trees in skyrim since they aren't 3D really whereas parts are. How do we make meshes do this? Is another question.

@nonstop It doesn't matter if you support if it's not possible.

@Sassie, this may not be possible but if they added rendering distance and/or fog it would be wonderful.

Procedural rendering works with anything from people to mountains. Like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL8zDgTlXso You'll see as the camera gets closer to the planet you start to see more and more detail as you fly to the surface. Also, it's actually called 'Procedural Generation' so title fix.

It works with both decals and meshes, is what I meant.
