why buy a script when you can make it? |

Great suggestion. This is something we're working on. |
|
|
You could always make the script, but some scripts are lengthy or difficult to make, so a working script takes a long time. There would be people who'd love to save frustrating hours of scripting by buying a script instead.
I don't know how much I like it personally, especially because it will be more difficult to learn scripts (since people won't let you have their scripts to look at anymore), but perhaps it has potential. |

If the script doen't work then what? |

Perhaps there could be a group of "moderators", or people apointed by moderators who have to approve the script before it goes into any sort of catalogue. |

How would you keep people from selling buggy scripts and scamming other users out of money? |

"Perhaps there could be a group of "moderators", or people apointed by moderators who have to approve the script before it goes into any sort of catalogue."
Isn't that the answer? Didn't I just say that? The group could be moderators, or if the moderators are too busy then they can get other people to do it. |

Chesses idea is good. but who will be the moniters?
Puls sciprts ARE buggy. |
|
|
The moniters could be either the moderators, other Roblox staff, or perhaps the moderators could appoint good scripters to test it out. Instructions would be a requirement, perhaps if none are given these people who are looking it over could supply the instructions if the script is easy to understand and use.
Also, if the moderators were appointing people, the could add a system that allowed them to check who approved a script. Perhaps 2 people would have to approve the same script before it was allowed in. Regardless, their names would be recorded and if they were allowing scripts that were bad they would be able to "un-appoint" them from the group. Also, if someone detected a faulty script that had gotten through, then the moderators or other appointed people could check to make sure that the script was good, and perhaps offer assistance to the reporter of the script on how to use it correctly. |

The problem though, is that a Wave of noobs might do the lazy thing, and submit the most common and easy scripts out there, in some lame attempt to get money. That would be a LOT of work for the moderators. |
|
|
I like searching for random stuff and I try it if i like it i use it but i wouldint be able to do that anymore. |

I think being able to rate items and leave comments would give users the ability to steer each other towards good content and away from bad content. That's certainly what I use when I'm buying stuff online.
Of course, mistakes happen, so the ability for content creators to upload new versions of their scripts might also help. |

Yeah, and then people would be able to identify the Good script providers from the bad ones. |
|
RoboticaJoin Date: 2007-05-23 Post Count: 4975 |
yea :D we could have a little rating and comments bar under each script so if it doesn't work you'll see bad comments and bad ratings |
|
superlocoJoin Date: 2007-06-22 Post Count: 287 |
that would be useful... |
