This guide will explain how to create a map for Territory Conquest, and the below model has all of the parts you will need.
Territory Conquest Map Making Model: http://www.roblox.com/TC-Map-Making-item?id=129848713
TIP: Make sure to use the part in the model for making the map (YOu can change colors, of course) because it's a Symmetric FormFactor.
1: Making your map template.
To make the template of your map, most people get a good picture of their map, upload it to Roblox as a decal, and place it in their map building area, to build over it. If you do this, make sure the size of your decal in Studio is the exact size of your picture of it, so that the map is not stretched or distorted.
2: Adding countries/regions/states.
After you have a gray template of your map, it's time to start building countries/regions/states over it. If your map has set boundaries, such as a map that only includes countries, or states, you can just use a picture to add them exactly how they are. If it doesn't though, such as a map of Antarctica, in which the regions have no boundaries, you can only look at a map and use your own judgement of where the boundaries will go on your map. Try to make them even.
3: Splitting countries/regions/states.
There are usually a couple countries or regions in any map that are just massive. It's smart to split these into two separate territories. Depending on their positions, you can split them into East and West, North, South, and Central, or into provinces. Just make it accurate.
4: Modifying territories.
By this time, you should have a full map, with all of it's countries and regions completed. They are probably not yet ready to be played on. Do your best to have each territory not be 1 stud long or wide, unless it's necessary. Try not to have territories be too long, with a shorted width, or vis versa. And try not to have single massive territories.
5: Adding cities.
You now need to add cities. If there are more cities on a territory, that territory will generate more troops. To add cities, look at a population map of your map, which can be found on Google images. Place more cities where there are more people living on the population map. If you're making a map of a very unpopulated place - such as an arctic area, or Australia - then it's okay to have many territories without cities. On most maps, though, most of the territories should have at least 1 city. There shouldn't be too many cities on one territory - if a territory has four or five cities, it is considered very populated, and there should only be a few of these in the map, if any.
6: Adding Major Cities
Major cities are very important to a map. They are usually the capitals of countries, or very populated cities. For example, in a map of the USA, you would make Major Cities for Los Angeles, New York, Houston, San Diego, etc,. Normally, there should be one major cities in a country/state/region, though there can be more. It is wise to, if there are many, only pick the largest ones. You can look at a map of major cities for whichever map area you're making on Google Images to see what to add, and where.
7. Adding Capital Cities
After adding all of the Major Cities, find which of them are capital cities of any country. They are included in the model. NOTE: Not all capital cities should be included as major cities, just big ones.
7: Grouping.
Make sure all of your countries/states/regions are grouped and their model name is the name of the country/state/region. Have all of your cities grouped separately in one model. And add the lack text block from the Map Making Model over each country/state/region, with it's name.
8: Submission.
Take your map and publish it as a free model. Then send a message to Worsen and ask him to accept the model, including a link to the model. If he likes it, he will. You may also post it on the link of the TCL wall and ask for comments.
