I was about to reply to Dark when I hear a person shouting about a fire. As quick as a flash I stand up and look at Dark, silently asking him if he wants to go and check it out. Of course this is all to be polite since there's no way I'm missing this. |

"You kidding, Noah? This is what we came here to see!" Darikinth says, getting up - Still holding his drink - and runs outside to observe it. Everyone else is running away from the fire.

I grin and follow him outside, I brush past the people running away and examine the fires that seemed to come out of nowhere. Or at least it seemed like nowhere, it could have just been a drunk dwarf playing with matches. |

The fire doesn't seem to have anything supernatural about it. Aside from it's act of coming out of nowhere, that is.

Some villagers come by with a bucket and try to put out the fire, and it goes out quite quickly. "Maybe I was wrong," Darikinth said, just as the fire sprung up again.

(Here's a thought, I think it's probably a little OP but could crystal have the power to absorb some elemental magic? It would be limited to magical attacks that are weaker than whatever amount I use to absorb it. I had the idea thinking of the white crystal and how it seemed blank, just waiting to get a new face.)
"So what do you suggest we do?" I ask Dark. "I'm not sure if we're capable of putting this out, and do we even really want to put it out?" |

(Crystal is a type of magic all on it's own, not a shield against other magics.)

Apparently, it's not normal fire. It's Elemental Fire, and you can feel it fighting back, and giving you intense pain. At the same time, Darikinth says "Over there! That Elf wearing orange robes is motioning his hands as if using magic! And he's cringing in pain..."

"Damn!" I say, getting rid of my crystal and backing off. I then rush towards the elf and attempt to create a barrier of crystal to trap him in. |

I summon a wall of crystal to block the fire and I stomp my right foot on the ground sending a large amount of crystal surging towards the elf. |

This makes you feel quite weak. Also, several other things simultaneously happen at once. The city guard comes over to try and break up the battle. The fire dissipates, and so does your shield. The wizard creates a shield of fire to stop your surge of crystal, and about a split second after that Darikinth finds his way to behind him and hits him on the head with the glass. The big fire that was scaring everyone is gone, thanks to you and Darikinth.

I rest on one knee, tired from the battle. Being a fairly new magic user I was still not used to prolonged magical combat.
Looking up at Dark I say, "Thanks for that, I didn't know how long I could have kept that up." |
