Seems like the way Hearts of Iron does this. You win a battle based on army size, organization, general skill, and terrain/weather. |

I like the General idea, and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE ThunderingNova's.
They get materials from random pieces of territory in the map that
generates wood/stone/etc. There will be a lot of these, and they also
produce units. |

We already thought of something like this. It was a fortification/farm/barracks system based on gold. Gold is gained through number of cities, but it was kind of taking away the aspect of TC being simple. >IF< we ever going to do something like this, it will be another game. |
|
|
Well, your last attempt to add ' Vips ' for TC was way to op, and that was supposed to DEFINITELY happen. Then worsen stepped in and said it wont be, you asked for our opinions now you've got them. Mine is
Its way to OP. When I heard it I thought that we got to employ some kind of AI to control a country, which'd be soo coooool. In my opinion. |
|

1) How will generals look?
2) This will just be stupid because you could have a army of 100 troops (All of which are generals) And somebody attacks you with 1000 troops and lose.
3)This isn't viewed popular amongst the community if you add this on please make it a game mode.
4) Games Great, the only thing which in my opinion I would change is the ally system. If it could be three teams of 2, 2 v 2 v 2. This would create a more fair battle. Instead of just allying everybody we can actually fight for once! Every game I play it's a 5 v 1... This vision is like lets say its Europe.
England and France Vs Italy and Germany, Vs Norway and ... you get the drill.

@Axehandle
Generals would only move with armies and you would have the option to send them or not when you move an army. Armies with generals on them would have a star gui displayed above the number and hovering over it would allow you to see who is there.
2) With the current plans, you would only have about 6 generals at 50k troops. There will never be an instance where you have that many generals.
To add onto that, generals can only give a bonus equal to 150% of any army's natural strength. This means that even 100 with a general will NOT beat 1000.
3) There are many people that like this, you are simply choosing to view those that don't.
4) Perhaps limiting alliances according to how long a war has gone on (ex only 1 ally until 10 minutes into the game, then you may have more). |

@ TheUrbanGamer
Why thank you, but your argument is invalid.
First of all, you did not read right. I said game passes were supposed to be added definitely, I did not specify which one, therefore the ones hated were removed.
Also, I did not make those VIP's. I was the one assigned to type ideas, which I only added 2 or 3, and it wasn't those game changing ideas such as revolting neutrals. I simply made the thread, hates all on me. I don't care, however, if people hate me.
@Axe
There will be a GUI showing your generals and their name.
At most, you can have around 5 generals, it's not like all of your generals will work effectively. The more generals in the same territory, the buff of each generals will be cut.
For >example<, if there is one territory
1 General buff: 100%
2 Generals buff: 150%
3 Generals buff: 175%
4 Generals buff: 187.5%
5 Generals buff: 193.75%
Etc. It wont go over 200%
That is just an example. |

And when I said generals could only give 150% bonus of the army they are on, that is the MAXIMUM, certainly the bonus would be lower with lower level generals.
Also, general stacking on one army would yield lower bonuses for each additional general which means it wouldn't be that advantageous in every case to stack generals in one army. |

I for one think it'd be a great idea. I love the idea of generals. Also, I'd be REALLY interested if you could make a gamepass to where you could name them. That'd be awesome. But, the way I see it is to where the general at first would be used to capture territories (AI) to gain experience. But after you start a war with someone, they'd be used sparingly due to the fact that they could die. Also, question, could you perhaps move generals from army to another? How exactly would moving the general work? |
|
|
Only problem I have with it is it would make TC more complicated and I like it being easy to learn and master. |
|
|
Okay more questions.
How do we get Generals? It says each time you spawn with a capital? Is this like One General per Capital (So you start of with one), however if I defeat Blue and capture his Capital I get two Generals?
Can this at least be released as a game mode before an actual release just if this fails, however in my opinion it sounds sorta great.
One last thing the Bird eye view is great but you should make it so you can turn the angels like a normal Robloxian instead of using the Scroll mouse to ROTATE as this makes it HARD to CONTROL.
Basically like Free Roaming With (normal controls) this would certainly change the view of the Bird eye View pass. |

@Saywha
Generals can move into another army as long as you click a new GUI saying 'Move General' or something like sort.
@Brave
As long as you're up to date regarding to new stuff in TC, you'll be fine with the 'complexity'.

Well, that answers my question. I guess... bump for support |

Generals would act like units in movement, except when you open the unit movement GUI, they will be listed on the side and will have a "send" button next to them that toggles (on click) whether or not they should be sent with the army you are sending.

Also the amount of generals you have is currently planned to correspond to the number of units you have. Alternatives such as based on amount of countries/territories are open for discussion. |
|
|
we should take this idea
and throw it into the trash can
i like cheese |
|
|
but, the idea would be great if it were in a separate game mode that was titled "Generals"
also, i think there should be a game mode randomizer, and everyones game mode vote is set to random automatically. that way we can play multiple game modes without having to get everyone in the server to vote
i like cheese |

I like the idea, but a few quick questions if you guys don't mind awnsering...
1) I was a bit confused, When the General loses a battle, they lose a level or die? (If they die is another one spawned in, if yes at what level?)
2) How would you know the level of the General?
3) If your General was in the capitol, and the capitol is under attack, would your men get the capitol bonus COMBINED with the General, making the defnse EXTREMELY powerfull, or would it only select one of the bonuses?
4) If (pertaining to question 1) The general CAN die, do they only die if the army you send with them loses, or could they die in the actualy battle, even if you want the battle?
5) Would there be some sort of notification alerting you if a General is under attack? If towards the peak of the game you get around 6 generals, your going to undoubtly place them in different territories in order to get the largest bonus, Now if one of the territory they were in was attacked, would you be notified, since you are possibly pre-occupied and do not realise?
6) If you register for a territory to auto-send, and a Generel is in this territory, would he be auto-sent as well?
7) If, for what ever reason, I sent a Generel to a battle, after it already started, would the bonuses take effect immeaditly as he is sent in?
8) If for whatever reason, I kept the General ALONE in a territory, and this territory was attacked, would he defend it as a sldier, or not fight at all since they are scripted to only strengthen the army?
9)(Sorry for asking so much by the way) Finally, if my ally needed men to help defend a territory, am I able to send an army including my general? If yes, does my general become apart of my ally's army as normal soldiers do? If not, the what happens, do they immeaditly head towards the territory they came from? |

I'ma do this the Barack Obama way: "Those are indeed... Very good questions and... We will try to answer them... Iiiiinnnn the near future... All we want isssss... The future of the game to be very... Successful." |

@mark
1) If a General loses a battle, right now the plan is that they DO die, and a new general would be spawned with a level of 1.
2) Level of generals would be displayed as a GUI similar to the numbers above units/territories.
3) The bonus would probably be combined but with dampened effects. An important thing to note as well is that stacking generals on one territory will give you less and less extra bonus with a definite bonus cap that cannot exceed 150% of the natural army strength of a territory/army.
4) A General would be the last to die in a battle.
5) A notification system is a great idea!
6) For now, no. Perhaps it could be made an option.
7) Yes, the bonuses would take place as soon as the next damage calculation is done.
8) A general counts as 1 unit, so the general would act as a unit and be able to defend (though they would probably die)
9)I have a plan to be able to lend your generals to allies, and at the same time be able to RECALL your generals at any point in time to your capital or owned territory. |
|
|
You should make the army's with generals gold as they move so we know which are general army's. |
|
|
I did not mean it in a 'Derogatory' way, I was just pointing out if the community doesn't like it, then you shouldn't add it. |
|
|
One bad thing about the whole Idea.
If somebody is in control with 100 territories, Vs a pro player with 70 Territories he will lose. Whoever is in the lead gets the most Generals resulting in Victory faster...
Personally i would just stick to one General per Capital, otherwise if its Ant Arctic the Generals will get out of control.
