This is the Community Guidelines.
https://en.help.roblox.com/entries/221897
Now, NOWHERE in there does it say you can be banned for some of the things they ban for, for example, owning too many alternative accounts, or just posting silly things such as "Admins is rood" in a joking manor. As it says under Basic Rules of Behavior, and I'm not going to paste it here, as it will be CD'ed for some language. Anyway, some of the violations include
"Bullying, Threatening, or Intimidating
Any action or verbal dialog that may threaten or intimidate another player is considered bullying and not allowed. Saying you will find someone in real life or trying to scare them with real life facts is a form of bullying and not allowed. Sharing someone's personal information, photos, or personal website links publicly is a form of bullying and also not allowed.
Swearing and foul language
We do not permit the use of bad language during in-game chat when used to cuss someone out, on the website, or on forum. We have a filter to catch most of the bad words. Using symbols or other methods to get past the filter (called "filter breaking") will receive a harsher consequence than just using a filtered word. Do not use fake letters like * or @ to disguise the swearing or get past the filter. The moderators will still know what the word means and there will be a consequence.
Account or currency stealing or selling
A ROBLOX account is not meant to be taken, traded, or sold from the person who originally created it. Attempts to steal, sell or trade accounts will receive harsh consequences. The currency (Robux and Tix) on an account are also not to be stolen or sold.
Dating
We do not permit players to ask each other out or "hook up" on ROBLOX. You should not be looking for boy friends or girl friends on ROBLOX."
Now, thats all it says as far as basic rules go, I see no reason for terminating accounts for the fact that they have multiple accounts, and for the well known "Inappropriate Behavior" Ban, that falls under EVERYTHING, if you ever get a ban, the topic will 99% of the time be "Inappropriate Behavior." And half the time, the thing you posted has either no inappropriate words in it, nor is offensive, no bullying/harassment in it, or fraud. Do the admins just ban for anything they feel like banning for? Although it states "PLEASE NOTE: ALL MODERATION IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ROBLOX TEAM. HARSHER CONSEQUENCES MAY BE APPLIED FOR SERIOUS BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS." I feel as though it isn't clear enough, and I just assume that the admins are just allowed to ban for any reason they want? I'm not going to post my ban history or anything, but I KNOW for a FACT that they've banned for total bullcrap reasons before, and every time I try to reason about it, I get banned for...you guessed it, "Inappropriate Behavior" for no reason. Admins, I advise you recheck what you are and are NOT supposed to ban for, I mean honestly, and as far as ban appeals go, you either have bots or copy&pasters for the people who email about unfair bans. Not only do you have automated/C&P responses, but it takes THREE DAYS to get the email back, by then, most bans are over, or halfway over and for terminated accounts, that means they only have 6 tries to contact you about reasons they are banned unjustly. If we're trying to provide evidence that we're innocent, it's only fair that you actually answer us, and give us REASONS we are banned, give us proof, and explain WHY it isn't allowed. Not that freaking C&P crap you always provide, it doesn't help at all, the Community Guidelines page provides absolutely NO instruction of what's right and wrong. Please fix this. |

Naturely, some of us use "Foul"words and other badwords to "scare" off Online Daters.
Mature Players are quite likely to use Bad words and...Foul Words..
I suggest them to wrap the Damages up.Users who just joined may eventually left ROBLOX. |

They aren't banning for no reason.
Now, first off, I do KNOW that SOMEWHERE it has/does say that alternate accounts aren't really allowed. I've read it.
Also, they use a blacklist, thankfully. It's either lots of bans/warnings caused by the blacklist that can be fixed, or lots of inappropriate things that will take a while to get reviewed. I like the former more. |

The official ROBLOX rules are supposed to be stated in the Community Guidelines, if it isn't there, and if it isn't EXPLICITLY implied, how would we know what's right and wrong? They ban you if you do something they don't like, whether it's against the rules, or breaking no rules, I believe a friend of mine posted something about his religion, and why people shouldn't hate him for what he believes in, he got a week ban and it was his second offense. Again, if it isn't in Community Guidelines or implied, we shouldn't get punished for it. |

That's a good point, therefore you shouldn't. Plus, I've had the same issues with a couple of good friends having the same problem. This definitely needs to be fixed. |

Yes but sometimes saying something directly to the admins (if it is kinda rude or insulting or something, even if it is in a joking manner) is like PA |

What are you guys even supporting? I'm missing this whole thing.
As I said earlier, do you want a lot of people saying inappropriate things, and no blacklist, allowing you to say anything until you're reported, or do you want the occasional warning/ban WITH THE ABILITY TO EMAIL ROBLOX, and not as much inappropriate content?
Stop whining. |

Bump,
And Z007, when you appeal, the give you copy and paste answers, as said in the original post. I can't remember any time I, nor a done I know haven't received a copy and pasted email back. |

I actually read this and find it to be reasonably informed. I had honestly assumed that the community guidelines would be one of those long-winded EUA-type things.
Instead, it's a brief summary of a bunch of common-sense rules. Most of us still don't follow them anyway, but that's beside the point.
I'm in favor of a more acute list of things-not-to-do, but I'm also afraid of the consequences. For what it's worth, the mods are fairly lenient in their judgement -- or, at least they were with me. If they have to adopt a stricter code of conduct, what happens to us?
I :do: agree with the appeal process. To clarify, I think it's utter crap. We get enough corporate streamlining with every other company. Hardly ever will you get (1) a human being who is (2) a fluent speaker of choice language, minus the thick Indian accent.
I have one banned account that I tried to have re-activated. It was over something trivial, because I remember the first words out of my mouth were something akin to "What the hell?".
Phrase repeated after I went through the whole appeals process, only to be given the same shpeal about why it's just not possible. If we're going to take time out of our day to write a well-thought-out e-mail, the least you could do is return the favor.
tl;dr - Iffy on the stricter rules. Total support for a revision of the appeal process. |

Okay, so what if there is no giant sign telling you not to do something? It should be blatantly obvious. It's like putting a sign in a restaurant saying 'Eat.' We know what we are and are not allowed to do. Of course, people who don't understand the basic rules of the Internet need a brief and educated stacks of pages of what you do on a KIDS WEBSITE-Mind you- on what not to do.
You may not know what you've done wrong, and I do admit I agree with moderators making our mistakes more clear. For example, when I was posting something on a forum, it kept telling me my post had something wrong with it that is 'Breaking ROBLOX rules', and I had no idea what it was, taking me several tries just to post my opinion. But on the other ways, it's really not reliable.
Basic rules that ROBLOX HAS applied:
No natural disasters from within the last 2 years (Some natural disasters are never permissible no matter how long ago they happened)
No Terrorism
No (Going to block this out for the sake of ROBLOX rules. Link for full info: https://en.help.roblox.com/entries/221897)
No wars (or military conflicts) from within the last 10 years (Some wars are never permissible no matter how long ago they happened)
No contests
No places for the sole purpose of dating or marriage.
You know you've done wrong with your place if it contains these minor examples. So, if you have read all-and I mean all- of the rules, wouldn't you know what you've done wrong with said place? If you don't, you should check all of your games to see what you did. I would appreciate it though if ROBLOX actually told someone what they did and where they did it.
Not ONLY do you have to follow these main rules, but there are much more that apply. They're pretty minor to understand, though. No swearing, Online Dating, etc. You know, you heard, it's obvious. But if you're posting things on Forums, well that's quite not so different.
There are Forum rules too, you know. ROBLOX tries to keep this website as clean and kid-safe as possible, even if it means having to ban players. http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=80620879 For the rules.
Now, read the last paragraph.
'■▬▬ Not everything is in the rules ▬▬■
You are expected to abide by the spirit of these rules we’ve given you and try to be a good ROBLOX citizen. We cannot list absolutely every little rule and we do not appreciate Rules Lawyers who try to find loopholes to get away with bad behavior.'
Reading the rules is important, so you can catch these comments the Admins tell you.
Also, send your specific ban complaints to [email protected], because of course as it says 'Talking about your suspensions on the forums is not allowed because it’s just a cry for attention. We do want to hear feedback about the moderation system – post it in the Suggestions and Ideas forum.'
They want feedback, not complaints. I do like your idea of specific reasons for banning/warning/reminding/etc before taking too much action on the player for being confused on the issue.

@Mich, while I do agree, that last paragraph is pretty much saying "If you're too dumb to think those are the only rules, try and be a 'good' citizen"
Besides, along with not only being next to USELESS, the Community Guidelines are also RIDICULOUSLY difficult to find, if you've been on ROBLOX for more than a month. Granted, one of two starting PM's that they provide the obvious "Use your brain" rules, if you've been on for awhile, the Community Guidelines are difficult to locate. First, you get to check through EVERY PM you've EVER received, and if you have the archive section of your PMs as a trash can as I do, you get to go through EVEN MORE to look for it. And as far as the provided links in each forum go, no one is EVER going to look at those. And for those who do, they aren't going to open another LINK in another BROWSER to read it, and thats even if they bother to think about going to it. Most will skip by it and go straight to the posted rules. It took me a good deal of time to find links to the CG, and I was TRYING to get to it. I even had to swap to a brand new account to find the email for it. |

You just generally should behave anyway, there's no reason to even slightly push the boundaries of the rules on any site. |

Every ban has a reason behind it. There have been some mistakes made, but those are followed through with [email protected] and are investigated to see what the issue was.
I'm pretty positive that the only reason why accounts with multiple alts attached are banned because those alts are used for spamming or have inappropriate names. |

nbbeachJoin Date: 2008-11-25 Post Count: 115 |
@Iciness, while I agree with that, sometimes they just ban regardless of the rules. If you post an alt list, they'll ban for it, if you post a joke they don't like, it's a ban. There is no longer a "Do this and you'll get in trouble" Now it's complete based off of what the admins think, and whether they "like" it or not. |
