It's not locked, but it sticks for a second, then you open it. It leads to a hallway. If your memory serves you correctly, it should lead to a hub. From that hub, you could probably head to the dining hall, so even if the guard hears somebody running through the hallway, it should be almost impossible to find who it was since the dining hall is almost always crowded. |

Your memory was correct, you are now in one of the two hubs of the compound. There are four routes from this hub: Dining hall; Armory(guarded); primary computer room you just came from; elevator to the second floor. |

The dining hall is, as usual, crowded. It's just about 2:00 PM, and a lot of people are having a mid-afternoon snack or having a late lunch. |

Pretty much anything that can be taken right out of the box/bag and eaten. Jerky is a favorite. And there's all kinds of astronaut food. (Take your pick of anything, as long as there is no preparation required.) |

Dry, somewhat salty, but delicious nonetheless. After washing it down with the water, everything is fine. Then a single guard approaches you. "Head wants to speak to you." The guard has a gun, and there's little chance of escape. |

All of them have rifles, similar to the AR-15, and pistols similar to the Claridge Hi-Tec/Goncz Pistol. |

Time to attempt an amazing escape. I turn back to my food and water. I drink a bit of the water, then quickly and suddenly splash it in the guard's face, hopefully surprising him for long enough to smash his head into the table. |

You are successful in your surprise attack. But it's really hard not to be noticed. About half of the people around are diving under tables or such, while the other half are pulling out pistols(similar to G28). The guard you just attacked is still alive, and the other two have noticed the sudden flurry and are coming in to investigate. |

I grab the guard and use him as a shield, taking his gun out of his holster (or off the floor if he happened to drop it). I rush to the emergency exit, still holding the guard as a shield, whilst firing at the emergency exit guard. |

The guard you assaulted is still dazed, so it's easy to use him as a shield. There's no time to take the rifle, so you take the pistol out of the guards holster. Regardless of the poor mans life, several pistols are fired and kill the guard. You near the emergency exit, but now you are trapped between the exit guard and everyone with pistols in the eating area. |

I draw my knife from my scabbard and stab the exit guard as I sprint by him through the exit. |

The guard is just lining up to shoot you when you stab him.
(I suppose you want to escape.)
You opened the emergency exit door, and stepped out. You are now on a platform, one set of stairs leading down to a desert. |
