Anybody from the UK defending the UK now, look at the facts. >Less innovation in the past 30 years than the freaking Bermuda Triangle. >Ridiculous austerity measures. >A stupid generation of skill-less unemployed people. >Deep division on even the most petty of issues. >Fear mongering. >The Eurozone >Awful economy growth backed by an inconsistent and poorly improving education system. >Massive structural unemployment. And yes, I live in England.

you seem to think inflation is inherently bad, which it is not. inflation is preferrfed in many cases (the yen, peso, etc) because it leads to more wholesale purchases of exported goods due to a lower price. Is inflation always good? no. is inflation good for an economy that exports like the U.S.? in moderation, yes. ">UK consumer spending increasing constantly" there's your claim, sir. you seem to be looking at the recession from a subjective standpoint. i'm not saying it was good, i'm not saying it was a benefit, i'm simply showing the influence the U.S. economy has on the rest of the world.

also, saying your growth is amazing compared to the rest of europe is laughable. the majority of countries in the european union are falling or stagant. you're winning in a race for losers.

@hammer That is probably more down to the resilience of British businesses than the government's actions. The London riots were a stark reminder of how far the UK has fallen since it's prime.

To be honest I love America, and I can't really be bothered to continue to argue, so let's set it aside.
