In X~Legion, we will now attempt to wear hats that indicate what skill set people are good at and focus on. People are not obligated to wear the specified hats but are heavily encouraged too. Some people question the standardization of hats but let me tell you an interesting story of mine that explains how I feel about the topic. Hopefully you will feel the same way.
One day when I was playing online mount and blade warband, I was on a shipwrecked ship defending it from the hordes of sarranids that came from the surrounding land. I, and 3 other swadian crossbowmen were grouped up to each other hiding behind the ship's parapets. The three other swadians had incredibly similar garbs and there I was, looking noticeably different (and more important looking lol). We looked like a group of crossbowmen. I was watching the killboard and I saw that I and my group were racking up quite a lot of kills and every time the sarranids tried to board our ship, they were met by a hail of bolts. It took a long time for us to die and it was an incredible experience. Of course this was slightly exaggerated but the ideals are the same. I want this to be in XL. I want us to look like we are one.
Now to promote the usage of hat standardization, I will give around 100R at most so you can buy one of the hats listed. If you wear one of the hat classes without me buying it (one of the more expensive ones like stone infantry), I will award the person with 5 RP Denarii.
Please wear the hats that you are best at or what the tent in your century focuses on. This is a team effort to look similar!
Read the descriptions of the classes and wear the hat that most pertains to your skills or what your tent wears!
Light infantry: Standard Helm for Tiro-Miles but higher ranks may wear it to show their quick fighting style. They are best used for scouting and doing quick assaults and ambushes.

Medium Infantry: The medium infantry are light on their feet yet still have reasonable defense. They are quick to be placed in areas of pressure.

Heavy Infantry: They are the hard hitters of the legion and experts in penetrating enemy defenses and holding the lines. They should not be used for scouting due to their fighting capabilities but they can if needed.

High Ranks: High ranks will still have flank hat but should wear them much more often than then do. I give flank hats to centurions+ with BC.

Archer: Archers weaken the enemy before they fight the infantry. They are best used if the infantry wait as long as possible so the archers can inflict the most damage. The cowls worn by the archers give very mild protection but don't limit mobility in any way.

Cavalry: The cavalry are effective soldiers especially when charging into the rear of the enemy force. Cavalry are best used when close together but not too close so they might hinder the movement of fellow horsemen. Imagine being in a barbarian force being flanked by 5 roman cavalry in wedge unison. What a sight!

Sailor: Possible class, not set in stone. The sailors are experts in ship combat. They are especially proficient in boarding enemy ships and taking it over.

Signifer: The most common hat is the wolf but the lion hat is also acceptable. The signiferi are the morale support of the legion!

I support this but I think that there are too many option for us too look similar. I reccomend only one or two options per class |
