The Roblox Hockey League staff has agreed to start the new season with a fun day at an outdoor venue on January 1st, 2014 (Winter Classic). This will be a great time, as we will expand to 12 teams that season. But however, this would get in the way of the old season. Cutting down the season and keeping teams out of playoffs is fully unfair, so we are going to also help with this my giving everyone a playoff spot. It might not sound exciting at all, and it might be stupid to you, but those who are in first and such will get an easier ride to the finals.
We are excited for this new season, as having the opener last season was great and ended extremely well for the league.
Also, this schedule works PERFECTLY around the week of Christmas. This is our postseason schedule:
DEC 2 - 7: Quarterfinals Week
DEC 9 - 14: Semi Finals Week
DEC 16 - 21: Season 8 RHL Cup Finals
In the quick offseason, we will spend time gathering the new teams by doing a qualification championship. This will enter all teams that are wanting to enter the league into a tournament that will break down all of the teams into four divisions. The winner of every division will make it in the league. After that, we might consider making a minor league, managed by someone who wishes to own it and manage it daily, to put all that don't make it into the minors.
I know this postseason is at an EXTREME short notice (one day), but I'm sure you will enjoy it to the greatest extent, and everyone gets to experience what it feels like to be in the postseason.
