Texas is the best coaching job in college football who could possibly deserve it more than Saban

@cheesey http://college-football.si.com/2013/11/05/nick-saban-alabama-crimson-tide-texas-longhorns-pressure/ I suggest you read a bit. ---------- @deric I don't know, maybe I'm just so used to Mack Brown that I can't imagine anyone different as head coach of UT. I mean, sure, he came to the Longhorns half a year before I was born, but that does mean he's the only Longhorn coach I've known in my whole life. I can't imagine any different, and Mack Brown is a real classy guy. Never runs up the score (okay, one 70-3 game against Colorado, but that was on VY, not even Mack Brown) ---------- @Zelion It is, but Saban is just someone that belongs at an SEC school, preferably Alabama, LSU, or Georgia. Maybe even Tennessee, but no way at the University of Texas. ---------- @deric's second post As much as I'm fond of Bo Pelini and the Cornhuskers I think there's a handful (7-8 though) coaches better than Pelini, even Mack Brown may be one of them.

I don't even know why Mack Brown's job is in question. He didn't have a bad year.

Texas hasn't performed in the past what 4 seasons I mean no wonder why he would be losing his job he has not lived up to the Texas name in football, no one truly takes that team as threat anymore and they aren't as well rounded as they should be, mack should lose his job.

@Zelion Me being a Texas State fan as well as the Longhorns, I'd be happy because that would knock off W Kentucky, however Petrino is not at the high caliber of a coach as Mack Brown is. @Bro Consider that we were 5-7 3 seasons ago. Regardless of winning the conference or not, we have a very decent shot of going 10-3. @Cdawg Four seasons ago we were in Pasadena (13-1). The season before that even we could have gone to Miami. Three we were at home in Austin (5-7) under a mainly player-led team. Two we were in San Diego (8-5). Last season we were in San Antonio (9-4). This season we could be in San Antonio again, Arlington, or Glendale (8-5, 9-4, or 10-3). At this rate, we can be back in the national title race as early as next year. Mack is fine. It's just hiring dumb coordinators that's the problem.

Vince YOung was honestly the last great QB yall had and your team is falling at the wayside, Changes need to be made and honestly if i was program like Texas i would want results fast after a 5-7 season, but hey i understand mack has been there forever but honestly yall need to change something there cause the longhorns are not who they should be

So cdawg, you are saying they will lose their bowl game? (implying they get invited)
SirHurricane
#119463472Wednesday, December 04, 2013 4:49 AM GMT

@cdawg So Colt McCoy was not a good (college, not NFL) QB? So Garrett Gilbert was not a good player (bad leader still yeah)? Lol, get out, if we beat Baylor (which we should and will) we'll be 10-3. Hell, those BYU and Ole Miss losses were due to the fail old defense we had under Manny Diaz. @double I suppose I'm the only Longhorn fan you know then (besides Muffin, but Muffin likes to say that we will lose to every good opponent anyway) @Bro That's the key thing, we never lose a bowl. Texas has like, never lost a single bowl game under Mack Brown except for that National Championship Game vs Alabama.

@kool yeah that's the thing that's making me a bit happier even though saban is the best coach in college football "1. requires eating mack brown's contract" new AD wants everything to stay in place, and if mack gets the longhorns to a BCS bowl next year, he won't be fired for the next like, 10 years "2. saban said he's not leaving alabama" we don't know what he will and won't do though we can listen to him but there's always a good surprise "3. he's 60 or whatever. i don't think he's planning to do much this late in life" yeah, especially since his wife doesn't like austin he doesn't belong in this city anyway, he's a formal conservative type person - not hipster weirdo liberal
