I am an alright scripter, but what can I do to get more practice and get better, like script real things?

Set a goal by trying to make a concept place that pushes your scripting limits. Say you want to learn how to use camera manipulation, make a cutscene for a game. Really, it's either than or make little mini-projects of models that are a sort of practice.
