Overrated and over paid. Sure some work out but the fact that they are getting paid astronomical amounts of money is ridiculous, I know there isn't a lot of talent over there batting wise, so why take the risk of them not working out? You would have blown all that money on a bust pitcher and looked like a fool doing so.

Well your input is wrong. The opening pending money is for the foreign team that is offering the player, and the contract going to the player itself is far less than what American and Latin pitchers are getting. Yu Darvish = 6 years, 60 million at age 25. With several years in the Japanese league. Which I say is a very equal contract for Darvish. Being as dominant as he was in the 2nd best baseball league in the World gets you that type of money.

And the Mariners signed Ichiro in 1999. And he is probably one of the best right fielders in MLB history. If he went to the MLB when he was 20 (couldn't because if NBP restricts pending players until 8th season) he would of be going after Pete Rose's hit record. Using this double standard should show you that 1 player doesn't make the league suck, and one player doesn't make the league the greatest in the world.
