It is grammatically incorrect to not include a punctuation mark inside quotation marks if it is directly after said quotation. (e.g: "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog," is grammatically correct, whereas "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog", is not)

I got into the habit of putting punctuation marks outside of quotation marks because of the way computer languages are set up, plus it just looks ugly to me putting em inside. |

I've heard about this. And I've also heard that it is bull. I can't think of why it would possibly make sense to do things that way, so I'd rather ignore it.
As far as I'm concerned, if something isn't in a quote, it shouldn't be in quotes. |

I dont normally do it either, as I too think its ugly. I just wanted to point out, since he was talking about grammatical errors, that that is grammatically incorrect.
