I'm pretty sure that everyone says gooey. But it's personal preference. You can even say goo-I if you want. Keyboard not found. Press F1 to continue.

All of us now that it is an acronym. But you don't have to pronounce acronyms letter by letter. Take SQL for example. A lot of people call it sequel. Keyboard not found. Press F1 to continue.

No, I'm saying it is incorrect to say that saying it as "gewey"(gooey) is incorrect. EOS db 0x00 ;End of String Marker

Both are, in a way, correct. GUI is the correct way to say it in your head/around people you know, but in an audience of people you don't know, "gewey" is a lot more natural to say, and because of this, "gewey" is usually preferred.

TIL People care about things that don't even matter. I call it GUI. Does it matter? No, it does not. It never will matter so stop arguing about it.

For the longest time I thought that "Decal" was pronounced like "De-Cell." I have no idea why... I first saw that word when I was younger so I'm assuming I saw it mispelled as "Decel" And to this day I still instinctively pronounce it like that and have to correct myself ;_;

I say it "gwee".

#123474242Sunday, January 19, 2014 4:07 AM GMT

@Tridecimize That's a different case, because SQL is short for SEQUEL, which in itself is an acronym. I say Gee-You-Aye out of habit.
