survival mode gets boring fast and creative mode is only the slightest bit interesting if you can build anything more creative than a diamond/gold/tnt box
if you have pc minecraft you also have access to mods and adventure maps, so it's far more entertaining but it still eventually gets boring

I HAVE played minecraft for your information, I cannot believe I wasted $27 dollars on it, the game itself would probably go on for about $5 maximum if it had a reasonable price, after only 3 or so months it easily lost its spark and then it was not even worth my time, there is nothing new to see, you just build something out of horribly made graphical little cubes and then once you are done you log off and complain about how roblox "copied" minecraft.(even though roblox came 2 years before minecraft.)
I would rather play bad rats. |

i think people like minecraft because there is no other game with its formula
starting with nothing but a flat piece of land and ending with a massive, beautiful (if a bit blocky) palace
i can see its appeal to those that have a load of time on their hands and love sandbox games where you can build

@timmy, so you hate it because it has bad graphics? I assume your comparing that to halo 4 and Sanctum 2...Which by the way have hundreds of more workers then Minecraft, not a fair comparison.
Minecraft actually looks pretty good in my opinion. |

Minecraft really isn't that bad a game. It's pretty decent to play if you've got time to spare. Get the cracked version and some mods. You'll last for a while. Get more friends and make a cracked server.
Roblox isn't that bad too. Sadly, most of the top games are quickly made, free modeled and misleading. Also copies of other games.
I have bought both BC for Roblox and premium MC after playing it cracked for a while. Both are good games and I wouldn't mind recommending them. |

For people who think the end is boring, try out the hardcore end mod.
In my opinion, the aether mod is over rated, only a few mobs, and only one dimension... |

It is not that it has bad graphics it is that its using the graphics as a way to sell their game, they say that because it has these blocky textures it is "retro", and to fit in with the cool kids now everybody prefers to have their graphics in a 8x8 layout of a texture, even though the minecraft team could do much better as seen in some other games they use it as a selling point, and to awnser your question no I do not compare it to halo (I dont even like halo) I would compare it to maybe Scrolls as it is another game by mohjang. |

The problem is that you guys keep mentioning mod, mods are not part of the game, they are user-created and would not add to how good a game is, take for example if you took a good game like don't starve and you got one of the horrible weaboo mods it should not be counted as making the game worse, because the developers did not make that horrible weaboo mod so why should their game take the bullet?
why would that be the other way around in where minecraft could be a horrible game but have a few good mods, that does not mean minecraft is a good game. |

@timmy, Hmm, you do have a good point there, the default game, admittedly does get a little boring...And i do think people who treat notch like a king or a god are ridiculous, he's a game creator, not a god...
Although, i guess it's mainly the building part that makes the game fun, people do build pretty awesome stuff in servers. |

yes stealth but there is much better games to build stuff on, like roblox or LBP where you have more creative freedom and are not confined to just various blocks, we actually have circles and the ability to build without having to fly around with almost no control of where you are going. |

and plus minecraft has little to no mod support, they make it extremely hard to input mods, unlike a game like don't starve where you just have to go on steam and click a button and then you are ready to go. |

Im Quitting Roblox soon to spend more time playing Minecraft and WoW
Reasons im quitting:
6 Year olds who don't use grammar and start shouting at you for using it.
The Moderators , that's all I need to say on that subject.
Every update roblox gets even more cr4p.
WoW and Minecraft are much better.
Grammarless 5 year olds who simply adore this game rage below. |

@timmy, actually recently people have been making mod installers or minecraft, and a site called skydaz. Yes i know, this doesn't make the game any worse or better, but it does make it have better mod support. |

I love how people hate MC because of the fact it needs mods that are user created. I think that Roblox would be completely nothing if the community wouldn't be allowed to make their own games. It's basically more or less the same thing, mods for MC, games for Roblox. |

@keksa, Well...Yeah pretty much, people flaming about roblox v.s minecraft...This is just stupid, roblox has studs, minecraft has blocks, and minecraft or roblox did NOT copy eachother, completely different graphics, completely different gameplay...They're different games in every way, stop trying to compare them. |

@stealth, it does not help with the actual game the mod installers, because they are not official, if it is user-made and unofficial than I would not count it as part of the game. |
