I'm not sure if that's directed towards me but I'm going to assume it is I'm fairly sure that if realtime reflections were added, their render distances could be adjusted (or something, unless that's not how reflections work in games), or can have a lower rendering quality... ... I'm not sure how it can be done for big places. They can disable it if the place has a huge amount of bricks, like 10,000 or so.

It wouldn't need to be a flawless reflection, they can save memory by creating a blurred reflection, as with some metal types and the reflection off of wood floors. (Meaning you can't see everything in full detail, but the rough outline/color of objects.

Actually, two properties: MirrorVisibility - 0 being not at all, 1 being fully visible (Your standard mirror) MirrorQuality - how blurry the effect is. (0 is lowest, 1 is highest)

I like the mirror quality idea, that would add a lot of customization for developers. But, what would happen if someone put two mirrors in front of each other? Would there be a limit to how far each could reflect into each other or would it be an infinite loop? If it is the latter, then people could possibly abuse the mirrors and crash the servers. Maybe a mirror reflected in a mirror could just appear as the current reflection, similar to what the Sims does, to prevent that issue.

@AX: Mirror cannot mirror other mirrors OR You have a mirror limit defined by the player, like Portals in Portal. If you look at a Mirrored part, its mirroring effect will be replaced with some special "shiny" effect.
