a tale for the time being is an amazing book by canadian-american author ruth ozeki great book about a girl named ruth who lives on an island in british columbia who finds a diary on the beach by an american-japanese girl named nao who lived in japan and was contemplating suicide when she wrote it
the story is pretty much the main character, ruth, reading the diary and trying to locate naoko. it also teaches you a lot about japanese culture.
do not read it if:
*you disagree on my opinion of what an otaku is, you think i'm wrong, you will probably soil your diaper 10x more than you did when you read my opinion of what an otaku is because the author actually lived in japan, is a graduate of japanese literature, and is half japanese. |
