Interesting choices, but I am sure some of mine can find a new spot. Personally I dont get how "The world God only knows" got in ANYONES top 5 if they dont know some good taste in anime. But meh, I am not here to argue with you.
1) Naruto + Shippuden (yeah cheesy, but nice drama and comedy and tragedy).
2) Gurren Laggan (It really makes you regain your faith in humanity!)
3) Angel Beats! (drama...tragedy... lovely ending!)
4) Attack on titan (LOVE. IT).
5) Claymore (Sort of like attack on titan, women becoming demons hunting other demons... pretty entertaining).
6) -All anime movies produced by Studio Ghibli-
7) Great Teacher Onizuka (YOU WILL DIE LAUGHING but the first few episdoes are a bit disgusting and over dramatic)
8) Lelush Of The Rebellion (I think it has another name? Its entertaining but the tragedy really is the best at the end, where he **** spoilers)
9) Dragonball z and GT (just entertainment...)
10) Ranma half (or 1/2. LOADS of comedy!!!) |

is this that thing where we all tell each other our top 10 favorites because 1 guy did |

I dont know? Its your choice to put what you want down. I live in a free country so I have adapted to speak my mind freely. |

Why not? |
|
|
No, really.
I cannot process within a single portion of my mind why it would be anyone's favorite anime. Would you explain? |

Ok,I will.
The characters are surprisingly complex, the alien technology is fun to look at, and it has a feeling of sweetness and warmth that I don't see often in many romantic stories. |

No. I refuse to even respond to anything typed in that post after this.
"ANOTHER PERSON PUT ANO NATSU IN THEIR TOP 10"
It makes no sense whatsoever to me, but to each his own I suppose. I just can't see how such a dry show would be anyone's favorite. I felt like I was watching a cardboard box one day and it was more interesting than the show was save a small handful of episodes. |

Really, at least with Attack on Titan, you explained why you hated it, but here, you are just throwing crap at me for defending it. Please, explain what you have against Ano Natsu De Matteru!

Very well, here are some of the reasons that it confuses me that someone would consider this show as one of their favorites:
1. Waiting in the Summer has no substance as a harem or as a series alone, it just feels like a cliche harem plot except it has nothing interesting to give it credibility, meaning it tries to throw in these things to make it seem more interesting than it really is and fails to do so, save some episodes.
2. It tries to pass as an "Our friendship, though..." type of anime yet the character development is inconsistent. The plot itself doesn't help it be consistent because the main relationship takes multiple steps forward and back as well as the MC himself.
It's literally like the sole purpose of this show is trying to be this emotional friendly thing by making it about some people trying to make a mediocre movie. Meaning mostly we get to see them slacking off as the show tries to get you attached to characters that just aren't interesting.
3. Alien girl cliche being thrown in aside, the romance part of this anime is arguably the worst part about it. The main romance is almost as bad as the "romance" between two side characters who barely have any personality to begin with.
4. The quality is good, but the quality is supposed to be good since the anime isn't from the 90s-early 2000s.
5. The characters aren't complex at all. The anime just tries to make you think that by throwing in unreasonable emotions and feelings. It's one of those things where the emotions are so foreign and unrealistic that the fans of the show try to label it as "complex".
Leading to the ignorant "You just didn't get it" line.
The series is like watching a cardboard box try to become more interesting as people throw a bunch of colorful decorations all over it to try to pull you in.
Why do you like this anime? What made it so interesting to you?
And why do you feel like it has a sweetness that multiple other anime don't have? That part really deludes me.
However, as I stated before, to each man his own I suppose.

the romance was literally the worst romance ive ever seen
in anything
i would honestly prefer shinji x shinji's' hand over ano natsu's main romance (i can't even remember their names) |

It's pretty obvious we are extremely different in our tastes in anime.

I'm sorry, but that's a bit too harsh. I mean, what about School Days?

Well, let me put it in your language:
It makes Ano Natsu De Matteru and Mirai Nikki look like 5 centimeters per second.

honestly, a 12-13 episode anime based off of a VN isnt ever going to be good |

@Gleaming
Are you saying that Ano Natsu De Matteru's romance is worse than a visual novel's?

"I mean, what about School Days?"
School Days knew what it would be from day 1. It is an adaptation of the game, which had the same types of bad ends as the anime did.
School Days' main romance was a love triangle, everyone else was thrown in to help build up Makoto's (intentionally negative) character development and lead us to the ending.
The only character who's feelings were extremely unreasonable/unrealistic was Setsuna (mostly Setsuna).
School Days had a literal bad romance because that was how the plot was intended to go, and it matched the main character's progression (even if it was negative). In other words, a romance that would eventually end horribly is basically an extreme equivalent of one of the bad ends in the game. School Days didn't try to be a run of the mill shojo romance.
What is Waiting in the Summer's excuse? |

I'm sorry, but that logic does not justify an awful anime. They could have made a half decent anime out of the same premise.
