...Y..Yes. I don't know why. I really regret it now. Only in Japan can somebody turn brushing someone teeth into a form of popcorn. Seriously though. Please tell me that series is some sort of parody of actual anime. This isn't supposed to be taken seriously is it?

the joke is "brushing teeth isnt supposed to be s.e.xy" What? Is this some form of Japanese humour I don't understand? Teeth brushing isn't *** so let's make a scene in which teeth brushing is ****? I'm confused. Foolish Japanese people.

it's not some statement from all of japan the anime itself is weird and it's hard to explain without you having seen it though i think the first few seconds of the first episode of bakemonogatari might put you off a bit

I have watched the toothbrush scene. I think I am going to try out these "Monogatari" series.

if you ever get into it, you have to start with bakemonogatari however, after you finish episode 10 (the end of the nadeko arc) go and watch nekomonogatari (it's only like four episodes, and provides some much-needed backstory for the upcoming arc) THEN keep watching bakemonogatari it really helps

The Monogatari series revolves around Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student, who's almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. ... Once Koyomi helps solve Hitagi's problem, she agrees to become his friend and, later, his girlfriend. So it's like Twilight for Japan?

what's funny is that youtube made it an 18+ video even though there's technically no inappropriate content it's just a guy brushing his sister's teeth

"So it's like Twilight for Japan?" if twilight was a comedy that didn't necessarily take itself seriously and was mostly about the main character going around talking to various members of his very large harem @gleaming eh, i don't really see much purpose in watching the series out of it's airing order. it's like with the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya, if you watch in the airing order you might be a bit confused in the beginning but if you watch in chronological order you will miss out on some stuff

@eguana have you seen nekomonogatari? also: i watched bakemonogatari on crunchyroll. after episode 12, i decided to just torrent the whole series, since crunchyroll didn't have the rest, and it seemed like something i'd want stored i was super into the show and i decided to watch nekomonogatari while i was torrenting bakemonogatari, since it's a prequel and it's really short after watching nekomonogatari the tsubasa cat arc made WAY more sense it has a ton of flashbacks with vague explanations to nekomonogatari's events, and without having seen it i would have been kinda confused it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the show - it honestly only added to it you don't have to watch it like i recommended, but it's how i did it, and i enjoyed it

@gleaming the novels aren't in chronological order either. i say leave it up to the writers to decide how to tell the story, but it doesn't really matter. the monogatari series isn't really about the plot anyway
